Chapter 2608 Rumors
Fang Heng sat on the back of the Bone Dragon, quickly returning to the camp with Kotal.
The death realm alliance''s hard-won counterattack had been pushed back once again, and morale was somewhat low.
By the time the two arrived above the camp, they saw that defenses around the Nether Tower were being reinforced.
Kotal, standing on the Bone Dragon''s back, looked down at the camp with a worried expression and said, "The corrupted marshes we used before no longer have any effect on the mutated Disaster creatures. It seems we''ll need to adjust our tactics. I wonder if the Nether Tower here can hold out."
As they spoke, the Bone Dragon circled the skies twice beforending on an open area outside the camp.
The two dismounted from the Bone Dragon''s back and made their way toward the central camp to find Commander Tigranth.
Tigranth happened to be discussing with several other warmanders how to deal with the mutated creatures when Fang Heng and hispanion walked over. All of them turned their attention toward the two.
Kotal stepped forward, gave a slight bow, and beganmunicating with the group in the Dark nnguage, roughly exining the discoveries made during the recent battle.
After a moment, Kotal looked at Fang Heng and said, "Fang Heng, themanders would like to ask if you can help us recruit more Bone Dragon creatures?"
"Of course."
Fang Heng thought to himself, what a coincidence!
Even if the Dark n hadn''t brought it up, Fang Heng wouldn''t have let the matter go so easily.
As he watched, themanders from the death realm gathered again, seemingly discussing how to deal with the Disaster creatures.
Fang Heng couldn''t understand their conversation, so he decided not to pay them any mind and instead focused on his thoughts.
On the way back, he considered the possibility of summoning Abe Akaya to assist, then bringing in the vampires as well, hoping to use their abilities to deal with the Disaster creatures.
But after thinking it through carefully, he realized it wasn''t such a great idea.
The death realm was filled with the aura of death, and its fluctuations created a powerful negative effect on other creatures. The impact on the vampires would be too severe.
Not to mention, the vampires wouldn''t be able to do much here—they''d be more focused on resisting the death realm''s effects than on fighting.
As for Abe Akaya, he doubted it would fare any better against these constantly self-exploding creatures.
After a while, the discussion concluded, and themanders of the Dark n''s various teams began to disperse. Each of them wore a somewhat solemn expression.
Fang Heng looked at Kotal and asked, "How is the situation they were discussing?"
"Not too good," Kotal shook his head. "Themanders are all pessimistic about holding this ce. However, with the Nether Tower, we can still hold off the Disaster creatures for a while. During this time, we''ll try toe up with solutions from other areas to deal with them." n/?/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Other areas?"
As they were speaking, Commander Tigranth approached, nked by two bodyguards.
Fang Heng noticed Tigranth bowed slightly and then began speaking in anguage he couldn''t understand.
Kotal''s expression shifted slightly, and he quickly began tranting.
"Fang Heng, thetest report themander received indicates that the mutated Disaster creatures aren''t just appearing here. Other defensive domains have also been hit, and one of them has already beenpletely overrun."
"We''ve set up a new defensive line further back to slow the progress of the Disaster creatures, but if this continues, even the most optimistic estimate suggests that, in half a year, the entire death realm will bepletely consumed by the Disaster."
Fang Heng''s brow furrowed tightly.
He hadn''t expected the situation to be this dire so quickly.
The entire death realm seemed so hopeless in their fight against the Disaster creatures? Even themanders standing before him didn''t seem ready to take action—they thought they couldn''t hold out any longer?
But after giving it some thought, Fang Heng realized that perhaps this was not so surprising.
From the brief encounter earlier, it was clear that the Disaster creatures were extremely difficult to deal with.
It wasn''t just the death realm that was in trouble—if it had been him or any other game world, they probably wouldn''t have been able to fight them off either.
"This is how it is, Fang Heng," Kotal began tranting as Tigranth spoke. "Themander believes you are special, possessing strength beyond what the Dark n had imagined. And since you are a former subordinate of Empress Persephone, your status is unique. He requests your assistance with a special mission. The mission is highly dangerous, but we believe it may hold the key to defeating the Disaster creatures."
"What''s the mission?"
Kotal continued tranting word by word as Tigranth spoke: "Empress Persephone once fought the Disaster creatures in the Abyss of Despair. We believe she may havepletely destroyed the Disaster creatures at that time."
"But now that the Disaster creatures have reappeared, we have another theory. We think Empress Persephone didn''t actually destroy them but instead sealed their source. Over time, the seal has weakened, and the Disaster creatures have broken through, ing back to life."
Fang Heng nodded slowly.
"We will send a team to the Abyss of Despair for reconnaissance, hoping to find some clues that can help us deal with the Disaster creatures."
Fang Heng asked, "So, you want me to go with them?"
"No, the Abyss of Despair has beenpletely upied by disaster creatures and is extremely dangerous. We cannot guarantee your safety. We''re considering sending another team to assess the situation."
"Then what do you need me to do?"
"There is a ce called the Icebound Valley. It has been affected by extreme cold energy for years, to the point where even the Disaster creatures cannot resist the cold and are unable to spread into the valley. It''s said that Empress Persephone mastered the power of this cold and then fused it with her understanding of death strength, which allowed her to enter a new realm of power and sweep through the entire death realm."
"Additionally, there is a rumor among Empress Persephone''s former subordinates," Kotal tranted, looking at Fang Heng. "That the Empress left behind a special power in that ce. Do you know what that power is?"
Fang Heng shook his head and said, "Sorry, I''ve never heard of it."
"Alright," Kotal continued tranting, "We believe this power might be useful in dealing with the disaster creatures. The Icebound Valley has not been upied by the disaster creatures, so the danger is lower. Since you are a former subordinate of the Empress, if you apany us, there might be a chance of discovery."
Kotal paused for a moment, then tranted the final part: "Themander knows this is extremely dangerous, but the entire death realm is facing a great threat right now. This is a request from the Dark n."
[Hint: The yer has triggered a side mission-Seek the power left by the Empress.]

"Additionally, the Bone Dragon has proven highly effective on the front lines, helping to slow the spread of the Disaster. Themander hopes that you can temporarily leave the Bone Dragon in the front lines to deal with the Disaster."
Fang Heng thought for a moment, carefully examining the game hint.
The Empress''s power inheritance?
It didn''t matter whether it was meant to deal with the Disaster or not.
Even if it wasn''t, it was likely some other valuable asset.
It was worth checking out!
Fang Heng nodded immediately and said, "Alright, I have no objections."
"Thank you. There''s no time to waste. This time, I''ll personally lead the team. We won''t be bringing many people, so in order to save time, I hope we can make use of your Bone Dragon."
"Mhm, of course."
