Chapter 885 Ren’s Secret
"Whispera, does Ren love me?!"
The crowd gasped, some cheering with excitement while Evie remained unamused.
Whispera stared at Elena and grinned mischievously. "What will you trade?"
Elena leaned in and whispered something into Whispera''s ear, her eyes sparkling with delight.
"Ahem. Very well. The answer is . . ." Whispera paused, drawing out her words for suspense.
Everyone waited anxiously for the answer, feeling as though their lives depended on it.
Even Evie couldn''t help but lend her ear to the conversation, curious about the answer.
She was even surprised when she found herself yearning for the answer to be yes.
She couldn''t bear the thought of seeing Elena crestfallen if Whispera said no.
After all, throughout their journey, Elena had proven herself to be a remarkable woman. Evie had witnessed firsthand her unwavering dedication to Ren''s cause.
They had formed a deep bond of friendship as well, sharingughter, and victories.
Evie found herself rooting for the possibility of something more between Ren and Elena, even if it was just a glimmer of affection.
As she waited anxiously for Whispera''s response, Evie couldn''t help but hope for the best, her heart pounding with anticipation.
Whispera opened her mouth . . .
"What are you guys doing?"
Elena and the others stood straight, their expressions suddenly innocent as they scattered away.
"N-nothing!" they all eximed in unison, their guilty looks giving them away.
Everyone scattered, pretending to be upied with various tasks and engaging in hushed conversations.
Ren was baffled by the sudden flurry of activity and nced at Evie with a perplexed expression. "What''s all that about?"
Evie shot him a mischievous look before leaning in to whisper something in Whispera''s ear.
Whispera''s eyes sparkled with mischief. "What secret do you want to know?"
Evie pointed at Ren and replied, "His. I want you to tell me his secret."
Ren blinked in surprise, momentarily taken aback by the unexpected turn of events.
Everyone within earshot perked up, their ears twitching with anticipation as they awaited the answer.
"Hoi, Evie, what''s going on?" Ren asked. He''s having a bad feeling about this.
Evie merely grinned. "Whispera can tell you any secrets in exchange for another."
Ren suddenly felt a pang of apprehension.
What if Whispera knew about his secret regarding his evolution and the end of the world?
Did the system have the capability to read his mind and memories?
This was bad, wasn''t it?
Ren nced at Whispera, who wore a sly smile on her face.
If worse came to worst, Ren would have to silence her to keep her from spilling any secrets. This wasn''t the time to divulge anything just yet.
While the others wore the expressions of eager anticipation, expecting a significant revtion, Ren''s heart raced with the readiness to act.
Whispera opened her mouth, and Ren prepared himself to silence her by any means necessary. n/?/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Ren is . . ."
Ren quickly cast a spell.
". . . going to propose to you . . ."
". . ."
". . ."
There was a heavy silence in the air before Elena broke it with a loud cheer.
"Finally! Ren already proposed to me, so it''s about time that he proposes to you, Evie."
"Eh? When did he propose to you?" Vivi asked, puzzled.
"I knew it. Such a yer," Malifira chuckled, shaking her head.
"All men are like that," Desira sneered, but then her expression softened as she nced at Azazel. "But Lord Azazel is different. He only loves me, right?"
"Way to go, Ren!" Azazel approved, giving him a thumbs up.
"A man has got to have a wife, but a true demon among men needs a lot of wives," Iraelyn said, nodding in approval.
Pam sighed. "As the goddess of luck and fortune, why don''t I have a love life? Just why?"
Evie''s poker face cracked, and she blushed, burying her cheeks in both hands.
Among them, Ren was the one who still hadn''t recovered.
He didn''t expect that answer, so he didn''t know what to do or say.
He whipped his gaze at Whispera, and she winked at him.
Something told Ren that she knew his other secret but chose not to reveal it instead.
So, the system could have ess to his brain and all the information inside it.
Knowing that, Ren felt a little scared of the game.
It could only mean that the developers have all the information of an individual, wouldn''t it?
"You''re going to propose?" Evie''s soft voice jolted Ren back to the moment.
He could only clear his throat, his hardened facade melting at the sight of Evie''s flushed face.
"Y-yeah, but I guess the surprise is all ruined now," he admitted sheepishly.
Evie beamed. "I''ll pretend that I didn''t hear it then."
Ren chuckled. "That would be appreciated."
"Oh,e on! You can show us right here, Ren! Propose to her right here and now!" Azazel demanded.
The others agreed and cheered.
Ren whacked Azazel''s head and instructed the others, "Everyone, if you''re ready, let''s move out and rescue Lori."
With that, Ren headed off, but his ears were red with embarrassment.
The others immediately hopped over to Evie and congratted her.
"Ohh, I want to see how Ren proposed," Vivi said excitedly.
Malifiraughed. "It would be really awkward."
Desira agreed. "I can''t really picture that constipated face of his suddenly proposing out of nowhere."
"Right?" Elena chimed in with augh.
"It''s Ren, he''d always think of a surprise!" Azazel got Ren''s back obviously.
"Maybe he would do it the old-fashioned way, like arranging an arena and all the males who wanted Evie''s hand would have to fight him to the death so he could eliminate allpetitors and then finally propose to her!" Iraelyn proimed.
"Such a wild imagination," Pam and the other women deadpanned.
"Anyway, that''s not the important thing right now," Elena said, grabbing Evie''s hands and looking her in the eyes with her big shining orbs. "What is your answer if Ren proposes?"
There was another silence, and everyone''s eyes were on Evie.
Under these circumstances, Evie should have been embarrassed and ufortable under everyone''s attention, but right now, she was full of confidence in her feelings for Ren.
"Do you even need to ask?" Evie beamed, her face radiant as the sun. "The answer is obviously yes."
