    Ye Chen was surprised—it was a female voice he heard talking to him.


    He turned around, and as expected, he found himself facing a woman.


    The woman had a tall height of 1.7 meters, and she was dressed in an immacte uniform. She looked oppressively handsome in her slim-fit camo top and straight-cut camo pants.


    From her I.D., Ye Chen found out that her name was Bai Libing and she was a troop leader.


    Bai Libing noticed that the man who was standing still had the nerve to stare at her bosoms, and she was infuriated. She continued, “On your knees and put your hands behind your head! This is the second warning!”


    Ye Chen remained motionless. As Bai Libing was about to give him his third warning, Sun Yi rushed forward and grabbed Ye Chen’s hands without hesitating. She raised both of them to the top of his head and forced Ye Chen to kneel.


    After doing all that, she kneeled beside him. She whispered to Ye Chen, “Now’s not the time to space out. They’ll really kill you. Later on, we’ll give the police our statement and we should be able to walk away free. This ce is under security camera surveince anyway. It’ll prove that you did everything out of self-defense… It’ll be fine.”


    Ye Chen was not up to do any sort of exining. Hence, he merely nodded.


    Only then did Bai Libing rx. For reasons unknown, something told her that the gangly young boy was someone dangerous.


    She scanned the surrounding area. It was obvious that a fight had urred. However, when she noticed that it was Chen Zhengguo who was on his knees, she stood frozen on her spot.


    Why in the world would he be on his knees?


    He was none other than the leader of the Chen family! Some rumors even imed that he was the chairperson of a chamber ofmerce.


    Without a second thought, she ordered, “Lil Zhou, confiscate the security surveince footage here. Then, ask the hotel for a copy of their guest register.”


    “Chief, what about the rest of the people?” Lil Zhou asked.


    Bai Libing’s eyebrows twitched, and her crystal voice was heard again. “Bring everyone in!”

    8 p.m., at the front gate of a building in River City.


    Ye Chen and Sun Yi finally walked out of the ce. This time, the authorities did not bring everyone in solely for investigation purposes. However, they were trying to get aplete picture of the incident through everyone’s statements.


    The authorities also went through the surveince footage at the hotel and came up with a general understanding of the incident. However, a peculiarity stood out to the authorities—the fight between Ye Chen and the old man from the Chen family seemed to have been split in half, only a huge patch of static snow was left on the screen.


    With that section of the footage missing, Ye Chen appeared to have been defending himself justly. Therefore, they could not retain Ye Chen.


    Sun Yi inhaled the air outside in deep breaths and then said in a voice full of emotion, “Ah, nothing beats being outside. I never want to go back to that ce a second time in this lifetime. Once I get home, I’ll have a clean shower for sure to thoroughly wash off all the bad luck.”


    Ye Chen said nothing. He was well aware that the existence of Chen Zhengguo and his son was still a ticking time bomb to Sun Yi.


    Once Ye Chen left River City, Sun Yi would definitely be the victim of the Chen family’s anger!


    Despite the tragedy that happened five years ago, Ye Chen had to take action for Sun Yi!


    “‘Seems like I’ll have to find some time to visit those two personally,” Ye Chen muttered under his breath.

    Ye Chen scratched his head and attempted to cover up by saying, “I was just thinking to myself. I only arrived in River City recently and I’ve no idea where I can go to for amodation.”


    Sun Yi facepalmed herself. She recalled that Ye Chen hade all the way from the countryside to River City to promote his secret form. Judging by his financial status, he definitely could not afford a hotel room. If it was not for the dy at the police station, she assumed that he would have returned to his vige long ago.


    Based on these assumptions, it was her fault that Ye Chen had to go through it.


    Sun Yi hesitated for a while before she firmly said, “What about this? You can stay over at my house for a night. I have a spare bedroom. It’s not very spacious but it’s better than sleeping in the park, right?”


    Ye Chen moved his face closer toward Sun Yi and smiled. “Director Sun, aren’t you scared that I might be a criminal? Or are you doing this because I’m too attractive today and you want to repay me with yourself?”


    Sun Yi rolled her eyes at Ye Chen and pretended to be disgusted. “With that level of skill? Please, it’s not enough to attract me. Hmph! So, are you sleeping over or not?!”


    “Sleeping over! Of course, I’m sleeping over!”


    “Who wants you over? Hmph! One condition – you’re only sleeping over for a night!” The moment Sun Yi finished her sentence, she covered her mouth immediately upon realizing how flirty she sounded. Then, after ncing at Ye Chen and noticing the mischievous look on his face, she assumed that Ye Chen was filled with evil thoughts!


    As their ride was still parked at the?Grand Dragon Lake Hotel’s?¹?underground parking lot,?the duo had no choice but to hire a taxi back to the hotel.


    Soon, the taxi arrived and both of them got into the car. As Ye Chen closed the taxi door, he gazed at the River City Police Station. He could sense that a pair of eyes were following them for sure.

    After Ye Chen and Sun Yi left, a woman dressed in sports attire walked out. It was Bai Libing, the person who had detained Ye Chen that afternoon.


    The sports attire entuated Bai Libing’s voluptuous figure perfectly. Her all-for-business ponytail encapsted her dedication and experience in her work. It was at this crucial moment that her beauty came to light—the kind that could ruin countries and bring disaster to people.


    She returned to her car and switched on aptop that had been stowed away in it. She yed the surveince footage obtained from the hotel on loop. During the final rey of the video, she slowed down the video’s speed by a hundred times.


    “People say that the Chen family’s hired bodyguards are all dmissioned special agents. Then, why are they so weak in front of this fellow? Is it luck or is the fellow really powerful?”


    She suddenly remembered something and quickly made an international phone call.


    Soon enough, the call connected.


    “Eldest Senior Brother, are you on a mission…? I’m sorry for troubling you... But there’s something I need your help with. Uh… Eldest Senior Brother, can you take a look at the video I just sent you and help me analyze the young man in it…? I’ll wait for your call.”

What a bother. No matter what, I’m the leader of the Dragon Soul Commando Unit. There’s no reason for me to deal with her requests from morning till night like I have nothing better to do.”


    Despite nagging to himself, Ying Qing obediently switched on hisptop, signed in into his email, and downloaded the video that Bai Libing had sent him.


    After ying the video for a few seconds, hebeled it as a normal fight. Displeasure crept up his face. He muttered under his breath, “What’s there for me to analyze in such a meaningless fight? Did the boy here get beaten to death by the group of bodyguards or what? That’s possible.”

    Suddenly, his eyes narrowed into slits and his back straightened!
