Chapter 217: Terror

As Hundred Ghost spoke the wrong word and got killed, Xu Feng sighed softly.

"Come on, Jeff." He smiled bitterly. "You killed him too fast. My revive is still on cooldown. What would you do if he respawned to a town?"

"S-Sorry…" Realizing his mistake, Jeff softly apologized, his earlier fierce demeanor was no longer visible.

Of course, it was just a joke and Xu Feng wasn''t really mad.

The respawn time was usually set in 30 minutes unless there were some special circumstances, so it was anything but a farce that Xu Feng made.

Yet Jeff still yed along and behaved somewhat timidly.

Toward the rude and disgusting Hundred Ghost, Jeff was not afraid of thetter whatsoever.

However, toward Xu Feng, he was filled with a tinge of fear and mostly reverence.

Despite his low level and attributes, he managed to stall two adult Behemoths and even killed one of them without any assistance. Such a feat was unheard of, and in this world, respect was given to the strong.

Xu Feng had already proven himself to be a strong expert, so respect must be given.

As for Hundred Ghost and hispanions— who couldn''t even resist a single Dominion Rend from him was worse than trash. They were non-recyble trash that no one wanted.

While their conversation was ongoing, Carmen was wholly astonished, never expecting such a crisis to be so easily resolved.

"Shouldn''t we be running after some conversation and Hundred Ghost will be madly chasing after us?" Carmen muttered, her eyes ncing at the corpses. These were all level 7-8 yers that most ordinary yers would be struggling to escape from.

What astonished her further was that Xu Feng continued to revive Hundred Ghost yet again.

At this moment, terror finally filled his eyes as he realized Jeff was an invincible existence.

"Stop it!" Hundred Ghost raised his hand and said, "It was wrong of me to be disrespectful to you, but our goal is simply Lunar Wraith."

Confused, Jeff turned to Xu Feng, clearly unable to tell if Hundred Ghost was braindead or just in stupid in general.

Why was he pleading mercy from him?

"I''m not the person you need to plead." Jeff snorted coldly, cing his battle axe by his shoulder, and continued, "You need to have Mister Feng''s forgiveness if you want to live."

Originally, Jeff wanted to say Baron Feng, but sensing Xu Feng''s re, he knew he shouldn''t refer to his noble status.

And he felt it was only right, given these people were worse than the citizens.

Their status was only adventures, yet they dared to prance around him. Truly, ignorance was bliss, but to be overly ignorant was ridiculous.

''I''m a mercenary and even I needed to mind my words toward Baron Feng. How dare these lowly adventurers try to ambush and threaten him!'' Jeff inwardly sneered, finding these people''s behaviorughable.

Do they think that by being adventurers, they could have the Adventure Guild to support their nonsense?

The Mercenary Association and Adventure Guild operated independently, with some asions of working together. However, one thing was for certain, neither party would be foolish enough to provoke others to start a war.

When Hundred Ghost realized that he needed to plead mercy to the person he was just disrespecting and ordered to be killed back to level 0, he was left bbergasted, his mouth hanging open.

It was as if he wanted to say something but no sound came out.

He didn''t want to apologize, but as Xu Feng shed a very friendly smile, a chill ran down his spine.

''Fuck, this bastard has a strong helper. I''ll just take this humiliation for now and repay it tenfold the next time.'' Hundred Ghost swore inwardly, clenched his fist secretly, and began to apologize.

"I-I''m sorry, Mister Feng. It was my fault for targeting you and your friend." He said after much difficulty, his nails nearly pierced his flesh skin from clenching so hard.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng seemed distracted, ncing left and right.

He finally took notice of Hundred Ghost and chuckled, "Oh, you were apologizing to me?"

"Whoopsie, but you listened to the wrong person. I''m not the person involved, but it''s Lunar Wraith over here."

As Xu Feng directed the person required to apologize, he made sure to call Carmen by her character name and not her real name. These bunch of clowns did not deserve to know her real name, lest they might find her in the real world.

Hundred Ghost felt like his blood boiling reached its breaking point.

At first, he suppressed his anger and apologized, but now he was told that the person he apologized to was incorrect.

At this moment, he truly wished to retrieve his weapon and attack Xu Feng.

However, whenever he wanted to attempt such an act, he sensed the frightening killing intent from Jeff.

It didn''t take a genius to know that the moment he tried such an act, it would be another death iing. He had already died twice, losing a level and numerous pieces of equipment that were scattered on the ground.

Overwhelmed with the terror of the possibility of losing even more, Hundred Ghost restrained his pride yet again and turned to Carmen.

With a difficult smile, he sheepishly said, "Sorry Lunar Wraith. It was our fault to target you and I promise it won''t happen again here."

Carmen was rmed, astonished, and filled with disbelief. All along, Hundred Ghost had been unruly and overbearing arrogant, constantly haunting her like a pest.

The scenario of him ever cowering and apologizing to her never urred in her mind.

Yet Xu Feng had done it. Of course, Jeff''s credit can''t be diminished, considering he was the person who managed to kill them with a single attack.

Taking a deep breath, Carmen mustered her courage and eximed, "I don''t wish to ever see you again."

Hundred Ghost was delighted, clearly knowing that Carmen was still the naive soft-headed fool.

"Yes, I will—" Before Hundred Ghost couldplete his sentence by saying he would agree, Xu Feng''s next word dumbfounded him.

"Since Lunar Wraith doesn''t want to see him ever again, do the job." Xu Feng coolly said.
