<h4>Chapter 92: Opening of the Basketball Competition</h4>

    Another weekend began.


    However, that weekend was different from the previous ones. Most of the students went out of their dorms instead of lying in bed, ying games in their rooms, ordering takeout, or shopping with their girlfriends.


    The reason for that was the basketballpetition had begun!


    “Ye’zi, let’s go! Let’s cheer for Little Gen together!” Potato invited.


    “Not only Little Gen, we need to cheer for the entirenguage department!” Xiang corrected him.


    Both of them were excited and filled with fighting spirit.


    That atmosphere had eventually got to Ye Lingchen, bringing a smile to his face.


    Ever since he obtained the Prodigy System, he was destined to be different from others. Reality was exactly that. The events he experienced recently was nigh impossible for an average person. Only when he spends time with his roommates will he truly feel like a student.


    The three of them were talking andughing as they headed over to the field that was already filled with people. Boys and girls were simrly excited, watching and discussing the matches by the side.


    The court was on the eastern half of the field split up to six courts, allowing up to 12 teams topete at the same time.


    The team matchups were decided by drawing lots. Thepetition was then separated into two halves. The first half and second half for 30 minutes each with a 15 minutes break in between.


    Saturday 8 am-9:30 am would be the first round of preliminary matches, 10 am-11:30 am would be the second round.


    Saturday 1 pm-2:30 pm would be the third round, 3 pm-4:30 pm would be the fourth round. 5 pm-6:30 pm would then be the repechage match.


    On Sunday morning there would be another match following the preliminaries, then the afternoon would be the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals matches.


    Thepetition would go on for two days. Although the timing seemed rushed, the arrangement was still eptable.


    Although thenguage department was mostly liberal arts students with the male students not being the majority, they were rather lucky this time around. Several students were tall with passable basketball skills.


    That brought forth some unprecedented passion for thepetition within the department,


    “Ye’zi, you’re here too.” Quite a few people were already in the court. Little Gen was also among the crowd, wearing a white basketball jersey.


    Seeing Ye Lingchen’s arrival, quite a few students had a friendly smile on their faces.


    Due to the martial training incident, Ye Lingchen had left a strong impression within them.


    “Little Gen, I didn’t expect you to look that good in your basketball jersey!” Ye Lingchen jested, “Are you ready?”


    “The results of the draw are out. We’re in the second batch of preliminary matches.” Little Gen replied. After a moment’s pause, he said in a serious voice, “The sports department is in the first batch!”


    “Sports department?” Ye Lingchen’s brows twitched. Needless to say, with theming from the sports department, they were an extremely tough opponent.


    “The sports department has almost always won first ce in the university basketballpetition. Granted the students they scout for are all talented athletes with good physique,” Potato added.


    “Tch, ournguage department is not that bad either. I heard a lot of them took part in basketballpetitions in highschool too. Their skills are not bad,” said Xiang begrudgingly.


    “That’s right. This time ournguage department will clear our bad name! At least... not end up in thest ce,” a girl chimed in. She had short hair, a round face and looked cute. Her name was Gao Wen.


    However, those that were close to her would know that Gao Wen was an extrovert, a very active person. She volunteered herself to be the ss’ sportsmittee.


    Thenguage department had always performed rather poorly in sports. For once they managed to recruit some good athletes. It would be a real shame if they did not manage to get a good result.


    “That’s right. Putting first ce aside, it’s very likely for us to get into the top 10.” said a senior. Pushing the sses sitting on his nose, he started to analyze the situation. “Inst year’s basketballpetition our department took the 13th ce. This time, we have quite a few good yersing from our freshmen. If we reced three yers fromst year’s basketball team with these people, our cement should have a drastic improvement.”


    Speaking of good yers, he continued, “You students from this year’s intake are something. I heard there was even one that defeated the martial training instructor. That’s just legendary. I’m guessing he came from some martial artist family. Those hidden Kung Fu masters are really scary!”


    The students from his ss tacitly shifted their gaze onto Ye Lingchen, looking at him awkwardly.


    Right at that moment, amotion started in the field.


    A group of students in basketball jerseys entered the field. The crowd cleared a path for them to pass through.


    “The yers are entering the court. It’s now 7:50 am. There are only 10 more minutes until the match begins!” Someone eximed in an excited tone.


    “Those in ck basketball jerseys are from the sports department!” Little Gen said in a serious tone as he looked towards one direction.


    Following Little Gen’s gaze, Ye Lingchen’s brows frowned slightly.


    The sports department was just like how legend has it. They were all tall and well built, all of them over 180cm. In their ck jerseys, their thick arms and shoulders were fully exposed, giving off an intimidating aura to the others.


    That type of physique would allow them to wipe the floor with any normal team. It was no wonder they had always ced first.


    Of course, that was not the main point.


    The main point was Ye Lingchen seeing He Yuan in the sports department’s team!


    His build was not as bulky as the others, but it was well bnced. Through the thin jersey, one can vaguely see the contours of his six-packs. That handsome face carried a hint of a devilish smile, immediately starting a wave of screams from the girls.


    “Ah~ the people in the sports department are so handsome!”


    “I want a boyfriend from the sports department. Each of them have MAXIMUM boyfriend potential!”


    “He Yuan, all the best! I want to have your kids...”


    “All the best, sports department! I love you!”


    Needless to say, the sports department had thousands of fans, immediately drowning out the cheers of other departments. At that moment, the entire court was seemingly dominated by the sports department.


    He Yuan was ustomed to such situations. Raising his hand and waved at the crowd, which in turn brought about another round of screams.


    At that time, his gaze stopped for a moment as he saw Ye Lingchen’s figure in the crowd. The corner of his mouth curled into a mocking smile with a cold gleam shing through his eyes.


    “Damn it! It’s He Yuan again!” Potato and the rest had naturally noticed He Yuan, silently cursing their bad luck.


    “He Yuan’s skills are good! Although he is not the tallest, he managed to be the sports department’s team leader!” Little Gen’s brows were lined with worry, “I’ve watched him y previously. Regardless of dribbles, jumping power, explosiveness, and speed, they are all extremely polished!”

    After the yers entered the court, it was time for warmups.


    The sports department was matched with the music department. Just from the department name, one could tell it was a joke yed by the heavens. The music department was destined to be fodder.


    The music department was wearing orange jerseys. Each of their yers looked bitter and helpless, obviously having no confidence in themselves.
