Chapter 583: Chapter 0583: Pirate (Third Update Request for Subscription)

The mncholic sound of the ship’s horn echoed in the air.

ck smoke billowed towards the sky as thetest steam-sail hybrid ship from the Chris Empire made its way across the pristine ocean.

Su Lu emerged onto the deck, holding onto the railing and looking out to sea. Suddenly, he chuckled, “At the end of the day, I’ve had to step back just a bit….”

Beyond reaching the seventh stage, his next goal was to explore the Abyss for further insight into his own professional path and find two of his biological parents.

If not for them, he wouldn’t have ventured to the federation to procure another Abyss poem. He sought to understand the Abyss better, for it wasn’t to his advantage to disregard another dominator while potentially facing off against the demon, a supreme divine being.

Moreover, it was the world’s church, not the gods, that had truly orchestrated the tragedy of the Pottery family.

Those in the seventh-stage profession did not have faith in artificial gods, making them far removed from the church.

Although Su Lu announced his neutrality for the time being, he recognized that once his professional status improved, he could assert his own influence in new ways.

Due to Lady of Radiance’s intervention, Su Lu nned to postpone his revenge.

After all, Alfred, who had targeted him, had already been obliterated, and the Church had suffered heavy losses in thest Abyss.<div>

The rest could be dealt with slowly.

After all, the goddess still held tremendous ruling power in this world.

All this while, he had one destination in mind – the Dark Continent!

As he looked towards another direction on the deck, he spotted a pair of nobles with their daughter.

The gentlemanly nobleman, upon seeing him, offered a warm smile.

But it was the young girl that cheerfully sprinted towards him, arms wide open, shouting, “Uncle!”

    “Hmm.”

As Su Lu lifted little Rolin up in his arms, he turned to speak to the approaching Rod and Anfi, “Are you sure about this?”

The Downton couple exchanged a nce, their smiles unwavering. “The Northern Province is engulfed in war, and the Empire is no longer peaceful… Although returning to the White Eagle Federation might have been a good choice, we still want to offer you our support. Anfi and I are curious to see the scenery of the Dark Continent’s colonies.”

The hybrid passenger ship they were currently on was heading straight for the Chris Empire’s colonial port in the Dark Continent – Dn Port.

As Rod himself was aiming to progress further, the Dark Continent, being an environment richer in transcendent resources than both the Old and New Continents, was a perfect ce for him to secure various materials and conduct his hunts. Therefore, as soon as he learned about Su Lu’s n, he immediately stated his intention to participate.

“I n to establish some power on the Dark Continent… and, I’m rather curious about the transcendent species there,” Su Lu spoke ambiguously.

In reality, he was preparing to establish a religious sect there.

His own deity had informed him that the attribute column was almost upgraded. In a while, the harvesting of faith would be the main part of the experience pool.

It wouldn’t hurt to try something now.

Both Rod and Anfi belonged to his inner circle and were powerful professionals. Su Lu trusted thempletely.

“However… the social amenities in the Empire’s colonies are quitecking, especially in education… We need to hire more private tutors this time round,” he contemtes.

In the Chris Empire, private tutors hired by nobles were the mainstream during the primary stages of education.

One-on-one teaching by renowned schrs typically yielded excellent results, which gave the children of noble families an advantage when applying to university.<div>

This monopoly on knowledge wasn’t formed overnight and was unlikely to dissipate any time soon.

“You don’t need to worry about that, we’ve invited several schrs to apany us on this journey,” Rod chuckled.

Little Rolin, who was cradled in Su Lu’s arms, pouted, dreading the arduous lessons ahead.

“However, the situation on the Zoten Continent doesn’t look so good…” Rod spoke with concern.<div>

With the Empire’s ongoing civil war, its colonial warfronts were retracting across the board, let alone those on the Dark Continent.

The Zoten Continent was the Empire’s designated name for the continental te where the colonies resided.n/?/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“When you think about it… the ones ruling this world may not necessarily be humans… after all, our Old and New Continentsbined only make up about a tenth of the world. Especially the colonies on the Zoten Continent, which are frequently attacked by other species… The ns for the new provinces have beenpletely scrapped,” Su Lu shrugs.

“However, these trials and tribtions are what make the Continent ideal for our expansion.”

“I suppose so…” Rod paused briefly, a somewhat ruthless smile appearing on his face.

“The Zoten Continent is only a part of the Dark Perimeter Continent. There are many challenges we have to ovee there… but what we must face first is not the continent itself, but the pirates along the sea route.”

Right from the moment he made this decision, Su Lu began gathering information.

His god-like memory enabled him to memorise all the data thoroughly.

Not only does the sea hold tumultuous waves and winds, but it also harbours terrifying pirates!

Travelling on ships donning skull and crossbones gs, they wreak havoc along all sea routes, amassing wealth through pige. Some find perverse enjoyment in indiscriminate ughter.

Encountering such characters at sea is, without a doubt, every passenger’s worst nightmare.

These pirates werergely concentrated along the sea routes between the Old and New Continents, prowling like wolves waiting for their prey. Comprising social outcasts, adventurers and inders from various countries, they were the favoured children of the ocean.

While these blue-haired Children of the Ocean venerated the God of the Ocean and the God of the Storm, they never once showed mercy to their fellow believers.<div>

However, the pirates operating along the Zoten sea route were fewer than those between the Old and New Continents.

For no other reason, except that the rewards were considerably less lucrative.

“I have seen some pirate bounty…” Rod’s expression turned strange at the mention of this, “Most of them hail from the White Eagle Federation… with bounties ced on their heads by the Chris Empire.”

Su Lu, alongside Anfi, reciprocated with smiles.

In the history of this world, there have been two major periods of pirate uprisings.

The first took ce during the expansion era of the Chris Empire while it ndestinely supported pirate forces to disruptpeting nations’ trade routes.

The second urred during the Holy War when the White Eagle Federation Navy was at a disadvantage. They massively employed pirates to attack the Chris Empire’s sea supply lines.

It could be said that the first emergence was a ssic scheme of the Chris Empire, while the second one was a disgrace. Yet, many pirates from that period still lingered in present times.

However, for those who grew up in the Federation, such debacles were no cause for shame.

“Pirates rise during times of unrest… with the ongoing civil war and copse of numerous overseas colonies of the Chris Empire, the third ‘Great Pirate Era’ is about tomence,” Su Lu confidently stated.
