    Chapter 669: Chapter 663 More Surprises – Part 2

“Listen to my instructions now. I’m going to test the energy block and cut off the ship’s main engine in a minute. Do you understand?” that Davis said.

    “Understood”

“All hands, all hands, we are about to conduct a test of the spacecraft’s energy block. In one minute, the main engine will be cut off.” The voice of the Flying Squirrel echoed through the speaker in the cabin.

“We’ll see if this will work,” Davis said to Finn Lewis, and then he turned back to the controls. A minute passed quickly.

“Countdown 3 seconds, I’m cutting off the main engine.” The Flying Squirrel’s voice came through themunicator.

“3, 2, 1.” With the voice of Flying Squirrel, a humming sound was heard, and the power source of the spaceship was cut off. The countless green buttons in the cabin where Finn Lewis was located turned red.

“Switch the primary propulsion to the backup power output,” Davismanded, pressing a button.

“Understood. Switching in three, two, one.” As the Flying Squirrel’s voice echoed, a dull noise sounded. The lights in the cabin flickered several times, then returned to full brightness.

“Eh, not bad.” Davis surprisingly nodded, then picked up hismunicator without hesitation: “Now using the backup power output, is the energy percentage visible?”

“It’s visible. The backup energy is currently at 100 percent,” said Flying Squirrel.n/?/vel/b//in dot c//om<div>

“Good, now use the backup energy as the propulsion, and start the flight engine,” Davis told him.

“Are you sure? Isn’t our energy block insufficient?” Flying Squirrel asked in surprise.

“I’m sure, just do as I say, hurry up!” Davis shouted back.

“Alright, alright, Christ, could you ever talk nicely? 3, 2, 1, the flight engine has started and is functioning normally.”

“Great, now start the power output and proceed ording to the standard energy block. Output fifty percent of energy,” Davis ordered.

“Understood. Fifty percent energy output. Countdown is 10 seconds, 10, 9, 8, 7, 3, 2, 1.” As Flying Squirrel’s voice died down, suddenly, an enormous force came over, and Finn Lewis felt his body being thrown backward.

“Whoa!” Davis hollered as he smashed into the wall. Finn Lewis quickly turned around and reached for the floor. His fingers turned silver as he pierced them into the smooth floor.

A huge bacsh alerted Finn Lewis to the source of that power. It was caused by the rapid eleration of the spaceship. “Fuck, Davis, what did you do?! Are you trying to die?! The engine’s power output is 180 percent and still rising!” Jasmine Davis’ furious voice came through the speaker.

“Flying Squirrel, quickly reduce the energy output to twenty percent,” ordered Davis, shouting while sprawled on the floor.

“It’s decreasing now, thirty percent, twenty percent. The engine power is currently at ny percent. We’re still elerating, Davis. If the engine bursts, you’re dead,” warned Flying Squirrel.

“No worries, just calm down. I’m adjusting it right now. Although our spaceship is small and pretty old, the engine of each spaceship was designed to perform at 250 percent for half an hour. So, it won’t be a problem for a short time,” Davis assured calmly.

Finn Lewis was standing up again. The eleration was too fast just now that the spaceship’s artificial gravity and field bnce systems didn’t have time to adjust, causing some imbnce. But this only happens if the eleration happens within a certain range. If it’s within the standard range, there won’t be any unusual feelings inside the spaceship.

“How much energy does the backup energy block have now?” Davis asked before anyone else could reply.

“It is currently at ny-nine percent. Less than one percent was used.”

“So, that means we only used slightly less than one percent. Give me an exact number,” Davis demanded.

“I’ve shared the exact data with you, you can check it on the terminal system.”

Upon hearing that, Davis immediately said, “Understood. Switch the main power system back to the main engine in three minutes.”

    “Understood.”

After finishing the conversation, Davis ran to the nearby control panel and began rapidly reviewing the data just shared. Since Finn Lewis had pledged most of his Roberts Coin at the Star Bank, all he had was ced in these energy blocks. He had a total of 50 blocks which were spread neatly on the floor. ording to the test, the performance of these energy blocks was excellent and there were no problems using them here. With the energy issue solved, the remaining problem was cooling the jump engine.<div>

It depends on how long the jump engine can maintain the jump. But as of now, the possibility of escape has increased.

Finn Lewis waited for about ten minutes, then the cabin door opened suddenly and Jasmine Davis walked in with a pale face. Seeing the blocks of energy on the floor, Jasmine paused, then recovered her stern face and asked in a deep voice, “What happened, Davis?”

“Ah, Boss, you’re here. Don’t worry, there was just a minor miscalction during the test. The energy block was provided by this gentleman, remember him? I just didn’t expect it to be this powerful. Oh wow, look at all these blocks,” said Davis, noticing the energy blocks Lewis had taken out and neatly arranged.

“Hmm, so these are those energy blocks you have? Impressive,” Jasmine asked suspiciously, pointing at the energy blocks ced there.<div>

“Yes,” Finn Lewis replied with a nod.

“Of course, did you know how much power was inside this energy block? For just a small piece, it not only powers the entire spaceship, but also at fifty percent power output, it can bring the engine’s output power to 180.” Davis eagerly said before Lewis could respond.
