I''ve been reading ''Cultivation, I have a world of high martial arts'', chinese name ''修仙，我有一个高武世界''. I have only read the first 45 chapters so far. But I have been enjoying it.
I do have some complaints however. The MC seems to be some sort of godly genius. It isn''t just his ability to shuttle between the two worlds.
He seems to have no problem learning techniques or alchemy that would take others months/years. He''d do in a few days...
The story is very fast paced. I''ll let you guys know. In these types of stories. I normally drop them a little after foundation establishment.
Going from a mortal to foundation establishment is always fun to read about. I have seen MC''s go many realms higher. But at a certain point. The stages become unique to the story.
Qi Condensation/refinement, foundation establishment, core formation, nascent soul. After this point, the authors normally deviate and have different realms.
I noticed in this story that the foundation establishment pill isn''t as crazy as usual. In other stories I have read. A single foundation establishment pill can go for 10,000 low-grade spirit stones at minimum. They also are normally auctioned off and are big deals for rogue cultivators. Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
In this story. The author only made the pill cost 1,000 contribution points. This pricing seems a bit low to me. Considering the MC got 100 points just for being the first to reach Qi condensation in his group.
Next. I will talk about the mechanic of the goldenfinger. It is actually a cool premise!
So he can shuttle only between the two worlds. He doesn''t have any say when the ability is activated. But he knows exactly when it will trigger. Every seven days. He switches worlds. But what is interesting is that the other world he was in his ''paused'' in time.
So those that observed him. It never looks as if he has left. If it weren''t for his clothes and items changing. There would be almost no way to detect or prove he could travel.
The MC at the very start of the story tells the government about his ability. They don''t believe him at all at first. But he manages to convince them eventually.
I have to say. Having the government ''sponsor'' the MC is something I didn''t really expect. He doesn''t become an experiment subject. They do various test on him and try to have others go with him.
But it seems, only he can go to the other world.
Another cool aspect that has potential is the ''martial spirit''. In his world, whenever martial artist reach a certain level. They can unlock an ability. This could be something like ''telekinesis'' or a strength buff. Or a spatial ability (that would be extremely rare).
The MC hasn''t unlocked his martial spirit yet. But I have a hunch it will be related to space or his goldenfinger. I hope so at least...
So that is something I look forward to. It is funny, but I think this is the type of story a lot of people will dislike. Because it has the spirit of ''serving the country with all your heart''.
The MC has complete trust in his country and is very different then most other MC''s that I have read about. This is probably why I feel this story is a breath of fresh air (for now at least).
You just don''t see MC''s making their abilities public knowledge. It seems like such a bad idea...But due to this action. He can advance the entire world instead of absorbing all the benefits for himself. In his world, there are demonic beast and humanity is losing the battle with them.
He essentially has all of humanities support to explore the cultivation world.
Another complaint I have is ''secrets''.
Most cultivation sects have some sort of contract that is bound to the soul or life of the person. This is to prevent people from sharing their secrets. Knowledge is the foundation of a sect after all.
In the MC''s sect. I haven''t yet seen a ''contract'' on the techniques he got from the sect. So far, he has been literally sharing them with his government.
This shouldn''t be possible at all. But I guess the author is just doing his own thing and using a skin of a cultivation world.
