Galbis’ Lair.
This name was derived from the Tier 4 Ultimate Boss—the Cyclops Commander Galbis.
From a long time ago, there were already human adventurers venturing this part of the world so that they could y this legendary monster—one that, as imed, had wisdom rivaled that of humans’ and strength that was almost the same as a God-tier Boss.
There were a few prizes one could obtain when ying this Ultimate Boss.
Firstly, Ultimate Bosses that were Tier 4 and above were considered the “King” of Monsters. They always carried treasure that every adventure would ever dream of.
Secondly, if one could kill an Ultimate Boss, he or she would then obtain a King-tier Monster Pet Egg. The drop rate of this item was always 100%!
What was that a human adventurer always dreamt of obtaining?
Wealth?
Influence?
Power?
Killing one such Ultimate Boss would then fulfill all the above—fulfilling everything a human working hard all his life to achieve. Except, of course, for the privileged who already had everything.
Mythical Battlefield’s Galbis was one such “King” that many human adventurers dreamt of ying!
However, to y such an Ultimate Boss, the price one had to pay was tremendously huge.
Ultimate Bosses’ strength and defense were always extremely strong and their capabilities to adapt to their surroundings were also superb. Other than that, they usually carried a powerful army with them.
Yes...
Army!
They were different from other Bosses. Ultimate Boss couldmand every monster that was within their reach and make them attack, ambush, pin, and surround enemies—much like how human armies do.
Galbis was one such terrifying existence. Every single Orc and Cyclops under hismand was quite a warrior and they would always heed Galbis’mand and crush every party of human adventurers that dared to trespass Galbis’ Lair.
And it was this very army that Galbis was able to wipe out wave after wave of human adventurers, crush countless and countless of big ns’ leaders and armies, and stand tall on the Mythical Battlefield—undeafeated.
And today’s yer parties often fear and respect Ultimate Bosses that could wreak havoc like this.
Tier 5 yers often experienced a hard time fighting Tier 5 Bosses already. What more when they were to face an Ultimate Boss, one that possessed the strength of Tier 6 Boss and also a formidable army?
Of course...
There were always people who wanted to challenge the impossible, as it always was since the dawn of time.
Qin Ruo was one such person.
And he flew right into Galbis’ Lair’s air space, pletely alone.
***
Galbis’ Lair was basically a gigantic mountain, filled with caves andplicated mountain paths—like a giant beehive half buried into the grounds of the Mythical Battlefield.
The mountain was several hundred meters in height and several hundred square kilometers, with huge One-eyed Halfbeasts, carrying weapons or giant rocks, patrolling the mountain pathways—the entire ce felt like an enormous monster military fortress.
If yers were to decide to invade this darn ce, the terrain of the area would undoubtedly be a living nightmare. They would need to constantly fight off the attacks of Cyclops that spawned from those bee-hive-like caves. Plus if a Cyclops Boss got ahold of them, they would then be facing off endless waves of Tier 5, 6 Cyclops, fighting until theirst breath.
However, this would not be an issue for Qin Ruo as he traveled via flight, notnd. He slowly pped his Angelic Wings then safely hovered above the very top of Galbis’ Lair. He then activated his Elemental Perception...
Yes, there was an Ultimate Boss that possessed the strength of a Tier 6 Boss but Qin Ruo did not really care much about it—because back when he was Tier 4 he had already witnessed the strength of the Spectral Commander in the Graveyard of the Gods.
In the Buried City, he even fought against three Tier 6 Lich Bosses.
Even though he died the first time and the second time he opted to flee, the experience had enabled him to not feel as much unnecessary fear against such foes anymore.
What if he could not beat it? That would not mean he could not have escaped, right?
Qin Ruo pped his Angelic Wings again and glided down from the sky above Galbis’ Lair, and started circling the mountain to scan for Level 50 Earth-type Cyclops.
He was not crazy enough to take on Galbis...
Angelic Wings alone would not be enough for him to take on a God-tier Boss, and it could even drag him down. Besides his target was after all, still the Cyclops.
If Galbis ever turned up, Qin Ruo would not mind testing the waters, but that was all that he would do.
***
There were not many caves on top of the Galbis’ Lair. However, the more he glided down, the more caves he saw, and the more concentrated the caves were—like a beehive.
Qin Ruo’s infiltration above Galbis’ Lair had already alerted many One-eyed Orcs that were patrolling the area. These Orcs were at least four meters tall, and they were not really “one-eyed”—the entire facial structure was still there but most of it was cramped downward their face, leaving only a huge eye on the top; thus, giving the impression that they were “one-eyed”.
And these Orcs were not stupid too.
Their bodies resembled that of orcs yet they possessed the intellect and behaviors akin to humans’ while the power and potential of monsters flowed within them—making them a race of formidable warriors.
Sensing a trespasser, there were more and more One-eyed Orcs walked out of their caves.
Amongst them, as detected by Qin Ruo, were Level 50 Axe-throwing One-eyed Orcs, Level 52 One-eyed Orc Berserkers, Level 52 One-eyed Mages, Level 54 One-eyed Orc Beastmaster, and Level 55 Cyclopses...
There were also some other types of One-eyed Orcs that he could not identify through the info he had. One of such was a type that carried giant bow, one that was bigger than a person, and had arrows that reflected a golden re. They did not seem like the easy type to butt heads with.
Well, that’s right.
Qin Ruo then wisely evaded these One-eyed Orcs “Archers”, who seemed could deliver very strong physical attacks. He then saw another two types of One-eyed Orcs.
The first type was five meters tall and had arms that appeared to be the most muscr whenpared to other One-eyed Orcs. They intimidatingly waved their arms around while roaring in alert, eyes locking onto the airborne Qin Ruo.
Then there were also these groups of One-eyed Orcs, having the smallest size of all the One-eyed Orcs. Yet Qin Ruo felt that they were the most threatening ones.
They were less than three meters tall, like a miniature One-eyed Orcs and carried magic staffs. There were electric sparks constantly zipping around on the tip of their staffs...
Thunder-type monsters!
It was only a few minutes since Qin Ruo was gliding through the ce. However, the entireir was already filled with monsters preparing for battle, and murderous aura could be felt everywhere. Qin Ruo was utterly speechless when he saw this...
Now he understood why this Cyclops Commander Galbis could survive in Mythical Battlefield for so long and still not be in.
Just how many One-eyed Orcs were inside that damned Galbis’ Lair?!
He was merely testing waters but now there were waves and waves of high-level One-eyed Orcs standing ready outside of their’s caves.
From the lowest level armorless One-eyed Axe Throwing Orcs to the Cyclops Bosses who had silver armor on them...
Galbis’ Lair was nowpletely imprable!
With this level of defense, no matter how strong a n was it would be impossible to invade this Galbis’ Lair through the mountain pathways.
Naturally, Qin Ruo who came here alone, would not stand a chance too.
He did try several methods to get close, to see if he could break through the seemingly impregnable defense. As a result, when he glided near the weaker One-eyed Orc Mage and also the One-eyed Axe-throwing Orcs, several One-eyed Orc “Archers” dropped down from the sky—they literally jumped from the upper level down to the lower ones to cover their weakerrades. There were several times they were almost engaged in Combat Status with Qin Ruo too before he hurried away in shock.
These Level 55 Elite Monsters had ranged damage of 350 and above. Although this might not seem impressive whenpared to Magic Attacks, they were enough a threat to Elementalists as these attacks could easily prate Qin Ruo’s Darkfrost Shield. Also if they were tounch a coordinated range attack, he would be doomed...
Without other options, Qin Ruo then rose up into higher altitudes and switched to using Aqua Wings.
This worked out pretty well.
Immediately after he used Aquamorph to form his Aqua Wings, most of the “army” below had lost sight of Qin Ruo and started to wander off or retreat back into their caves. The ones remained were the One-eyed Orc Archers, the Electric-type One-eyed Orc and also the powerful Bosses, who all continue manning their stations eyes still locking onto Qin Ruo.
After the many waves of enemies retreated, Qin Ruo immediately spotted the Level 50 Cyclops!
The Cyclops was rather huge in size—thus, making it stand out a lot in Galbis’ Lair. Whenever Qin Ruo glided pass it, it would start charging up its mana as if it possessed human-like intellect.
At this moment, Qin Ruo realized that taking down this Cyclops would not be a walk in the park...
When the Aquamorph was still in effect, Qin Ruo’s defense would be rather weak. However if he were to dismantle his Aquamorph and activate his Defense Magic, Galbis’ Lair’s waves and waves of One-eyed Orc would then turn up again.
For a moment, Qin Ruo glided and glided around the Cyclops, not knowing how to proceed.
This was the first Tier 5 Boss that he had to face for his Ring of Honor. What a bother!
Qin Ruo pondered really hard for a while; then, he finally gave up and spread his Angelic Wings. This alerted the entire One-eyed Orc army of Galbis’ Lair yet again...
Watching countless One-eyed Orcs surrounding the Cyclops, Qin Ruo quietly hovered thirty meters away from them. Qin Ruo took a deep breath and extended his Frostbarrier and Darkfrost Shield, and then started channeling his magic.
He prayed silently. ‘This strike... Let’s hope it won’t wake the Galbis up...’
