Chapter 89~ Little helpers

Lora furrowed her eyebrows, looking down at the man sleeping on the bed, nked by the twins on either side. Hours earlier, she had agreed to her daughter''s request, her pleading eyes making it difficult for her to refuse her. Although Lora knew Ryan was exaggerating, the weariness in his eyes told her there was something she was missing.

Why did he look so tired and worn out? And was it just in her mind or he had lost weight?

Lora had noticed that Ryan''s skin had be pale after the ident. She didn''t know if it was because he lost a lot of blood or if there was something wrong with him. Could his injuries be more serious than he let on?

When they returned, Ryan yed with the kids and listened to their stories. However, he immediately fell asleep after having dinner.

It was strange because Ryan wasn''t an early sleeper. The kids had asked if they could sleep with their father and seeing them look sofortable with him warmed her heart.

Lora''s phone suddenly rang and she quickly left the guest room to pick it up.

She smiled when she saw that it was Charles Kingsley, Ryan''s grandfather.

"Hello, Grandpa," she said on the phone.

"Hello, Lora. Is Ryan still with you? I''m worried about him," Charles replied.

"He''s here... there was a small problem and he felt sick so he spent the night herest night," Lora replied, feeling guilty about what her father did.

"Really? Is he sleeping there tonight too?" Charles asked, his voiceced with excitement.

"I''ll tell him to return home imme-"

"I''m not around, dear, so there''s no one to take care of him. Since he''s already there, just keep him. In fact, he''s too old to live with his parents. I''ve chased him out of the house. You can keep him!" Charles eximed. "Grandpa-"

"Yes? Are you calling for me? Ok, I''ming! Let me just end this call," Charles yelled to someone on the other side of the phone. He then spoke to Lora, "Lora, I''m very busy right now. I''ll leave my grandson in your hands. Make sure you take care of him... if it''s possible, don''t bring him back!"

    Lora, "...."

When the call cut, Lora shook her head and chuckled. She nced back at the door and sighed. Ryan had already fallen asleep anyway... he could just leave the next day. Besides, the kids were happy to have him around.

Meanwhile, inside the guest room, Ryan and the twins opened their eyes.N?velDrama.Org owns this.

E giggled and said, "See, Daddy? It worked! Mommy has let you stay with us."

"I think I might be able to win her back soon," Ryan remarked, smiling.

Ethan shook his head and stated, "You''re not doing enough, Daddy. Uncle Jason used to bring Mommy flowers and gifts, yet all you''re doing is give her empty words. If you buy her flowers and take her out to nice ces, she will be happy."

E agreed with her brother, saying, "If you do something special for Mommy, she will feel happy and marry you."

Ryan''s heart swelled at the children''s words. He was happy to know that he was blessed with little helpers.

Nodding, he replied, "I hear you... don''t worry, leave it to me. I won''t disappoint you."

    ...

The next day, during breakfast, Jack red at Ryan and said, "You spent the weekend at my house, one would think you''re my live-in son-inw."

Ryan''s eyes lit up. He looked at Jack and requested, "Would you ept me as your live-in son-inw?"

    "What?" Jack''s eyes widened.

Lora also nced at Ryan, wondering where he was going with this.

"Since Lora doesn''t want to live with me, I can move into the mansion as your live-in son-inw," Ryan proimed, making Lora gasp.

Jack narrowed his eyes at Ryan and asked, "Are you willing to marry into the Davis family? Will your family allow that?"

"Yes, I''m witting. As long as I get to

be with Lora and the children, the order of things doesn''t matter. For them, can be a Davis," Ryan

dered, a serious look on his face.

The two men stared at each other. One looked sincere while the other was trying to see how genuine the young man was.

Lora sighed. She nced at the two men and said, "Enough of this... Dad, no one is marrying into the Davis family. First of all, Ryan and I are not together anymore. Secondly, he has apany to run, so he needs hisst name and he has assets to protect."

"It doesn''t matter because what I have is yours," Ryan remarked, looking at Lora. "I can give my name up if it means I get to share the rest of my life with you." Lora''s heart skipped a beat as butterflies fluttered in her stomach.

She cleared her throat and uttered, "Well, I don''t want you to do that... can we not talk about this?"

Ryan sighed internally, clutching his fork tightly. He didn''t want to make Lora ufortable, so he replied, "Sure... let''s eat."

When they were done with breakfast, E demanded, "I want Mommy and Daddy to take us to school together."

Ethan nodded and said, "It will be nice to go with both parents for a change."

"That''s right. Then everyone will know we have a father. They won''t think Daddy abandoned us anymore," E remarked.

The adults at the table shared a nce, the children''s words getting to them.

Jack smiled at the kids and uttered, "Who would dare say that to you? Your father is right here. How can he abandon such cute babies?" He

    paused and added, "Grandpa we

take you to school today, your parents will take you."

    "Yay!" E squealed.

Ryan turned to look at Lora, his heart clenching. He needed to bring her back to his side as soon as possible.

Soon, Lora and Ryan dropped the kids off at school.

E looked at them and asked, "Why aren''t you holding hands? Other parents hold hands as they wave at their children."

Lora chuckled. She was about to reply when she felt Ryan''srge hand take hers.

Looking at him, her heart fluttered as she said, "We don''t have to do everything they say."

"I want to," Ryan remarked before bringing her hand to his lips and giving it a gentle kiss. "Yay, Mommy and Daddy love each other!" E eximed. "Bye, Mommy, bye Daddy!"

Ethan held E''s hand and waved at their parents before leading her into the schoolyard.

At the same time, Ryan''s heart felt full. He didn''t know something as simple as taking his children to school would make him feel so happy.

    ...

Later in the day, Lora suddenly received a bouquet of premium red roses. She thought they were from Jason, however, the card said otherwise.

[I hope these flowers make you smile.]
