Sebastian watched Sydney with some apprehension.
Finally, Sydney spoke up. "Alright, if it''s truly over, then let it be. Theo ignoring you only confirms that he wants to end things. It''s best if you two don''t meet again in the future."
This was all Sydney could do now.
This tangled fate needed to end.
Sebastian genuinely loved Rosalie, and would treat her well.
As for Theodore, he had given up and withdrawn, leaving a trail of heartbreak. Whatever he did now would only cause Rosalie more pain.
It was clear he wasn''t suited for a life with Rosalie.
Theodore was emotionally clueless, while Sebastian was exceptionally perceptive, knowing exactly how to cherish the woman he loved.
Sebastian frowned slightly, confusion evident in his eyes. He hadn''t expected Sydney to say this.
He had thought Sydney might tell Rosalie that Theodore hadn''t been there the previous night. If Rosalie knew that, she would likely be even more upset and try to confront Theodore again.
Why hadn''t Sydney mentioned it? And since she arrived, Sebastian had felt that Sydney''s gaze toward him was different.
What had happened in between?
Sydney''s attitude seemed to have changedpletely.
Rosalie, hearing Sydney''s words, forced a bitter smile.
"Perhaps Theo and I will never see each other again. He doesn''t want my child, ignores my calls, and refuses to meet or speak with me. What more can I do?"
Rosalie was exhausted. She had tried, but Theodore truly didn''t want to see her anymore.
Sydney sighed, and stood up.
"Rose, take care of yourself and make sure the baby arrives safely. No matter what, there''s someone in this world who cares about you. I can tell Mr. Carter loves you, and you two seem good together."
Rosalie was surprised by Sydney''s sudden change of heart.
Sydney had always opposed her rtionship with Sebastian; what had caused this shift?
"Mom, why are you-"
Sydney smiled softly. "Even though
Theo is my son, he hurt you, and things have turned out this way.. You''re married to Sebastian now, and the die is cast. I have to face reality." Owned by N?velDrama.Org.
She moved closer and gently touched Rosalie''s hair. "You and Theo should bepletely done. If you can avoid seeing him in the future, do so, and don''t stay in touch. Otherwise, you''ll continue to suffer."
Rosalie nodded in painful agreement. "I understand."
Sydney, with tears in her eyes, turned and left.
Rosalie felt something was off about Sydney. "Mom..."
She wanted to call after Sydney, but she simply walked away without acknowledging her.
Sebastian noticed and said, "Rose, I''ll see her out."
With that, Sebastian followed Sydney into the corridor. "Wait a moment."
Sydney stopped and turned, quickly wiping away her tears. "Mr. Carter, is there something you need?"
"You''re calling me Mr. Carter today, and being so polite. Why aren''t you cursing me out like you did before?"
Sydney''s heart ached. "I was too hasty yesterday, and I apologize for that."

Sydney forced a smile. "I''m not pretending. I genuinely apologize. I shouldn''t have acted that way. Does your face still hurt?"
Unconsciously, Sydney reached out as if to touch his face.
Sebastian quickly stepped back. "What are you doing?"
Why was she acting so strange today?
Yesterday she wanted to hurt him, but today her gaze was almost maternal.
Was she having some sort of mental breakdown?
"Sorry," Sydney said awkwardly, withdrawing her hand. "I''m just very ashamed. I shouldn''t have hit you."
