Chapter 806

    ?

    "Don''t cry."

Theodore stepped forward, handing Aurora a clean handkerchief from his pocket.

"A man like him isn''t worthy of your tears."

Aurora took the handkerchief from him. It had a mild fragrance that smelled very pleasant.

She couldn''t bear to use it to wipe her tears, and simply held it tight in her hand.

"Mr. Spencer, I''m not crying for him. I just feel so d. Thank you foring to my aid today. I felt very anxious after calling you, but I really didn''t know what to do at that point. I''m sorry, I really am, for bothering you."

"Don''t apologize to me. I should be the one apologizing to you for misunderstanding you in the first ce. I was wondering why you didn''t call the police, and thought you had called me on purpose. Please don''t be angry at me for that."

Theodore tried to sound as gentle as possible, but his words still pierced Aurora''s heart. As it turns out, his first thought was that she was doing it on purpose.

Why was this man so cold and unfeeling?

Aurora''s body shook, overwhelmed with sorrow.

Theodore sighed. "Don''t cry. There''s no need to cry over something so trivial."

He felt somewhat frustrated seeing Aurora cry.

As if sensing that Theodore was upset, Aurora immediately wiped her tears away.

    "Alright, I''ll stop. I''m sorry."

"Stop apologizing to me. Don''t you find it irritating?" Theodore was started to get annoyed.

Aurora''s eyes widened in shock as she stared at him.

Theodore realized he was starting to get fierce with Aurora, and softened his tone. "Pardon me, I didn''t mean to sound so fierce. I''ve been in a bad mood recently."

He now finally understood how Rosalie felt when he kept apologizing to her. She must have been very annoyed with him.

Aurora forced herself to smile. "It''s alright. I can tell. How have you been recently?"

"Just like that," Theodore said. "Time just passes by and there''s nothing much to say about it."

Aurora gave him a weak smile in response.

Theodore nced at his watch. "It''s gettingte. Get some rest. I''ll be off now."

"Are you just leaving like this?" Aurora said as she followed behind him.

Theodore turned around. "Is there anything else?"

"No, I meant, you helped me today and I feel very grateful. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Theodore said tly, "No. You saved

me before, so consider us quits now that I helped you this time. That''s why Deven came over in the first ce."

Theodore''s cold words made Aurora''s heart suddenly throb in pain. Her brows furrowed as she started feeling breathless.

"So you came here tonight just to make things even between us, not because you were worried about me?" she said.

    At her words, Theodore''s brows

    furrowed: "That''s a strange question.

You make it seem as though.

    know each other very wellent

Aurora''s heart broke once more. He made it seem as though they were strangers.

Maybe,'' she thought, ''I was the one who crossed the line.''

Aurora smiled bitterly. "You''re right. I''m the one overthinking things."

She had thought that he came here out of worry for her. To think that he was here just to return her favor.

Aurora''s sorrowful face made Theodore instinctively want to exin himself, but on second thought, there wasn''t much to say.

They were strangers to begin with.

She saved him and he left her his number, telling her that he woulde to her aid if she ever needed help.

Now that he had done so, he had officially returned her favor and they were done.

Theodore didn''t understand and he didn''t want to. All he wanted to do now was leave.

"Ms. Payne, get some rest. If that manes and harasses you again, call me and I''ll kick him abroad next time."

With that, Theodore turned to leave.

When he reached the door, he suddenly heard a crash behind him.
