"Really? Quick, call her," Reba urged dly.
Sydney''s brows furrowed as she said, "Theo, are you really going to call Rose right now? She''s very busy."
The solemn look on his mother''s face made it seem as though the sky would fall on their heads if he really called Rosalie.
Instead of saying something, Theodore let Reba go and pulled out his phone from his pocket. He left the scene, and walked toward the door of the vi.
Sydney hurried out after him and saw him scrolling through his contacts.
Sydney said, "Theo, are you really going to call Rose?"
If he called her out of the blue, all her efforts would go down the drain.
Things would go back to what they were in the past, with the two of them entangled with each other and in pain.
"Are you afraid of me calling Rose?" Theo said.
"No, that''s not what I meant," Sydney exined. "I just don''t want to see you hurting."
"It''s none of your business. It''s my own business whether I''m hurting or not. I''m an adult, not a child needing his mother''s protection."
Sydney bowed her head in guilt. "Theo, I just... I just don''t want you two getting involved with each other again."
Fury burned in Theodore''s chest, but he remained silent as he continued making the call and putting the phone at his ear.
Sydney was very nervous, unsure of what he would say to Rosalie. She couldn''t rudely snatch the phone over. That would be too much.
But if things imploded between them, they would get entangled like they were before.
Things between Rosalie, Theodore, and Sebastian would getplicated again and might even be worse than it was before.
When the call went through, Theodore said, "Hello, Ms. Payne."
Sydney felt so anxious, but when she heard Theodore''s greeting, she looked up with doubt in her eyes.
She heard Theodore go ahead to say, "Can you do me a favor, please?"
When the other party replied in the affirmative, Theodore asked, "My grandmother has dementia and
insists on seeing my ex-wife.
However, my ex-wife isn''t arou
ke her. Do
right now. You look a bit like you minding over and pretending you''re her?
"Alright, I''ll send a car over to pick you up. Where are you right now?"
After he received an answer, Theodore hung up.
Sydney asked with a tone of doubt, "Theo, who is this Ms. Payne?"
"A friend of mine. She looks a little like Rose, and thought she coulde over and impersonate Rose Grandma isn''t of clear mind, anyway. Even if Rose came here in person, Grandma might not be able to recognize her."
Sydney heaved a sigh of relief. She had thought Theo was really going to call Rose.
Sydney''s face relieved made Theodore furrow his brows. "You''re happy I didn''t call Rose, aren''t you? You really don''t want me to contact her at all."
He really didn''t understand why his mother became like this.
"Theo, believe it or not, I really don''t want you to be hurt again."
"Thank you for being so thoughtful toward me." With that, Theodore turned around and walked back into the vi.
Sydney sighed, guilt flooding her inside.
Within the hour, the driver sent Aurora to the vi.
Theodore was waiting right outside. When he saw Aurora stepping out of the car, he approached her and said, "Ms. Payne, sorry to trouble you toe all the way here."
"It''s alright," Aurora said with a smile. "I''m d to be able to meet your grandmother. Where is she?"
Meeting his family made Aurora feel like they were growing closer.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org.
"Inside. Let me bring you to her."
Theodore walked her into the vi, and added, "It''s best that you don''t say too much when you see Grandma, in case you expose yourself. Just say something nice to make her happy."
"Got it."
Theodore continued giving her a few reminders as they walked into the living room.
