Sydney''s heart skipped a beat when she saw the caller ID. She reached out to snatch her phone back, but Geoffrey raised it high.Content is ? by N?velDrama.Org.
"Your husband is calling. Do you want to answer it?" Geoffrey asked.
"Geoffrey, give it back." Sydney looked at him sternly.
Geoffrey snorted. "You want to answer it? Let me help you with that."
"No!" Sydney tried to stop him, but it was already toote.
Geoffrey did it on purpose. He swiped to answer the call and even turned on the speaker.
Sydney''s face turned pale, and soon, Wesley''s voice came through the phone. "Hey, Sydney, are you asleep?"
Sydney red at Geoffrey. She was so angry that she was trembling.
Geoffrey smiled smugly at her, clearly enjoying himself. Then, he ced the phone by the pillow and lowered his head to kiss Sydney. He was deliberately trying to get her to make a sound.
Sydney clenched her eyes shut, using all her strength to push Geoffrey away.
On the other end, Wesley couldn''t hear Sydney''s response and sounded worried. "Sydney, can you hear me? Is the signal bad? Hey, Sydney?" Sydney forcefully pushed Geoffrey''s head away and said, "I''m here. I''m about to sleep. Do you need something?"
"You''re about to sleep? Sorry. I just wanted to hear your voice."
Geoffrey lowered his head to kiss her again, but Sydney mped her hand over his mouth.
Geoffrey''s lips curled into a wicked smile and intentionally chuckled.
Wesley was puzzled to hear a man''sughter and asked, "Sydney, are you alone?"
Sydney pressed down hard on Geoffrey''s mouth and said, "I''m watching a movie. Do you need something? If not, don''t disturb me."
Geoffrey pulled Sydney''s hand away, pinned them down on either side, and lowered his head to kiss her again.
Sydney had no choice but to endure, trying her best not to expose herself.
Wesley''s voice was filled with disappointment as he said, "What movie are you watching? We haven''t been to the movies in a while. Let''s go together next time."
Sydney was being kissed by Geoffrey, so she couldn''t speak at all.
Finally managing to break free, Sydney quickly said, "I know. I''ll hang up now. Goodbye." After saying that, she immediately hung up the phone.
She didn''t want Wesley to hear
anything. If he found out about this, he would be devastated. Who knew what chaos it would cause then? He mighte looking for Geoffrey to fight, and if the two of them faced off things would only get worse.
She had to find a way to make Geoffrey give up on his own, but judging by how things were now, that seemed impossible.
"You hung up just like that? Not going to chat a bit longer with your husband?" Geoffrey asked with a grin.
Sydney pushed the phone aside.
"Geoffrey, you should know that if the Spencers find out about our rtionship and what you''ve done to me, you won''t be able to handle the consequences. It won''t be good for you. You''re not as wealthy or powerful as the Spencers. They''ve been established for three
generations, and their foundation is much stronger than yours."
Geoffrey, with his hands on either side of her, smiled and said, "I don''t need any benefits. I don''t care how strong the Spencers'' foundation is. I can always strip them of something, can''t? At least I''ll disgust them. And your mother-inw has dementia. Can she handle a shock?
Sydney trembled with anger. He had been investigating her, and knew everything. He knew exactly how to control her using her weaknesses.
The Spencers and Carters were both powerful families. If the two went to war, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Although the Carters'' foundation wasn''t as strong as the Spencers, they had risen thanks to the influence of Geoffrey''s wife''s family. Over the years, their aggressive expansion had also made them a force to be reckoned with.
Sydney didn''t care what happened to the Carters, but she didn''t want to drag the Spencers down.
Sydney closed her eyes helplessly and said, "Hurry up."
