She didn''t know this man well, despite him saving her and her feeling grateful toward him.
Even so, it didn''t mean that he could raise such a ridiculous request.
"My motive is simple. Ten thousand dors and a week of your time." Vincent leaned back casually against the chair and said, "Or you could just give me ten billion dors."
Rosalie said solemnly, "I don''t have ten billion dors."
"If you don''t, then let''s make it ten thousand dors and a week of your time. If you can''t afford either option, I''d have saved you in vain and I''ll kill you."
His voice sounded like a rumble in the night, dangerous and with a tinge of wickedness.
He felt like a serpent hidden in the night, silently attacking his next victim in a way that made one shudder in fright.
Rosalie suddenly felt uneasy. She didn''t know if it was in hindsight or because this man changed way too fast. He had just blocked a bullet for her at the risk of his life.
Aftering here, he even let her drive his car off and gave her a gun for self-defense.
But now, he was acting like apletely different person, one who was evil and wicked. Rosalie looked straight into Vincent''s eyes, as if trying to see through them.
After a long time, she said, "You''re not that kind of person. No one would risk his life for the sake of money. Since you blocked the bullet for me, why would you kill me? I don''t know why you''re saying something so ruthless, but whatever it is, I hope you''ll make a full recovery soon."
With that, Rosalie stood up.
"I''m done with lunch. Take your time with the food. I''m leaving this ce now. My son is waiting for me to return."
Rosalie''s bag was kept in a cab not far away. She grabbed it, and pulled out a pen and a post-it note, and scribbled her number on it.
"This is my number. Call me when
you have a reasonable figure in mind. I won''t shirk responsibility. But I really can''t afford ten billion dors. Even a kidnapper wouldn''t ask for an amount they can''t possibly get."
Rosalien ced the note on the table and went on, "I''ll be off now. Thank you once again for saving me. I''ll hail a taxi back."
With that, Rosalie turned to leave.
Rosalie was about to open the door when gunshots sounded around her.
"Ahh!"
She jumped back in fright and stumbled a few steps back before copsing on the floor with a thud.
She then realized that there were a few gunshot holes around the door handle.
Shock registered on her face as sweat beaded on her brows. Her face went as pale as a sheet.
She turned around and saw Vincent a short distance away, toying with a gun in his hand and a sardonic smirk on his face.
"Ms. Young, I gave you three options
and you wanted to leave without choosing any of them. That''s not too good You''ve got to pick at least one."

She wiped the sweat from her brows and struggled to crawl up the floor, her body still shaking with fright.
"What exactly do you want? All three options are outrageous, how am I to choose any of them?"
"Is it that difficult? You can go by elimination. Which one is the least eptable to you?"
Vincent walked leisurely over to her and pointed his cold gun against her forehead.
Rosalie looked at him fearfully. "Are you going to kill me?"
