"What question?" Sebastian asked. "Are you pregnant? Which man did you fool around with?"
"Seb, why are you acting like this?" Yvonne retorted. "I didn''t mean that! I was going to ask you something."
"Ask me? What is it?"
Yvonne thought for a moment, then said, "Have you and Rose...consummated your marriage?"Text property ? N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Sebastian furrowed his brow. "What on earth are you talking about?"
Yvonne''s heart skipped a beat. She had been indirect enough. "Well, Seb... You two are married now, and Rose has a child. Have you...?"
Sebastian gave her head a tap, though not gently.
"Ouch! Why did you hit me, Seb?" Yvonne rubbed her head.
"Don''t mention this again."
Seeing the gloomy expression on Sebastian''s face, Yvonne seemed to realize something. Could it be that he and Rosalie hadn''t slept together yet? If that was the case, then it was great.
"Vonnie, hold the baby for a moment." Sebastian handed Steve to Yvonne.
Yvonne took Steve into her arms. "You''re so cute."
The baby in her arms was soft and cuddly, like a little toy. He was very adorable. Yvonne couldn''t help but smile.
Sebastian stood up and said, "Vonnie, take care of him for me. I need to see Dad."
"Why are you going to see Dad? Is something going on?"
"It''s about thepany. I need to ask him something. Help me take care of the baby for now. I''ll be backter."
"Okay, go ahead. I''ll look after him."
Yvonne had never looked after a baby before, so it felt new and exciting. Moreover, Steve was so cute. She liked him a lot.
Geoffrey brewed some tea. He didn''t drink much tea himself, but he liked making it for others.
He poured a cup of the tea he had made, and handed it to Sebastian. He had already known about the situation.
He pushed the cup toward Sebastian. "Have some tea."
"Dad, I can''t go to Melrine now," Sebastian said. "They''ll definitely arrest me, and they might even contact the Blencalgo authorities."
"So what if they do? There''s no
extradition agreement between the two countries. Moreover, you''re my son, Sebastian. How could I just stand by and watch you get extradited?"
Sebastian sighed in relief. He lifted the tea cup from the table and took a sip. "Thanks, Dad."
"Still, you''ve been too reckless. You caused such a mess in Melrine and almost got caught. They don''t care who you are. Your background doesn''t count for much there."
"I was furious at the time. I thought
Theodore had control over Rose, and I was worried they might get together again. You know how hard I worked to get her. After all, she married me because of your ns."
Geoffrey leaned back on the couch. Crossing his legs, he said leisurely, "Son, you''re smart and good at many things, but you''re far too emotional. What would you do if one day, for some reason, you had to give up her?"
"I won''t give her up." Sebastian''s voice rose a little. "No matter what happens, even if I die, I won''t let go. She''s my wife."
"What if you had to choose between her and your wealth?"
"I won''t have to make that choice," Sebastian said firmly. "No matter what, she will always be my wife, and I won''t lose everything I have."
A rare and unparalleled determination shed in Sebastian''s eyes, bined with a certain ruthlessness.
Geoffrey grinned. "You''re certainly my child. Who says you can''t have everything in life? You can, and you must."
