Chapter 1053

    ?

While the two were dining, neither noticed Aurora standing about a dozen meters away, covering her mouth as she wept bitterly. Her eyes were filled with pain and fury.

Behind Aurora stood a man, who leaned toward her and whispered, "See? I wasn''t lying. Your Theodore has been secretly meeting his ex-wife these past three months."

Aurora couldn''t believe what she was seeing. Yerick had told her that while she was bedridden and recovering over the past three months, Theodore had been meeting his ex-wife in secret. She didn''t want to believe Yerick, but seeing it with her own eyes struck her like a lightning bolt.

"What now? It looks like he''s trying to win her back," Yerick said deliberately, his words like a curse in Aurora''s ears. Each syble felt especially harsh.

Finally, unable to endure it any longer, Aurora stormed toward Theodore''s table. Please check at N/?vel(D)rama.Org.

Yerick made no move to stop her. Instead, he stood there with his hands in his pockets, a smug smile on his lips.

"Rose, earlier you said you could stay until after my surgery. Then "

"Theo." Aurora''s voice suddenly rang out.

Rosalie and Theodore turned their heads, both showing varying degrees of surprise upon seeing Aurora.

"Aurora." Theodore stood up. "What are you doing here?"

Aurora clutched her chest, tears streaming down her face. "Theo, you''ve been telling me you were busy. So this is what you were busy with! If I hadn''t followed you and seen it with my own eyes, I never would''ve believed you''d treat me like this."

Rosalie put down her knife and fork, all appetite lost.

"Mrs. Carter, is it appropriate for you to be having dinner with Theo? Does your husband know?" Aurora demanded.

Rosalie said nothing; she simply picked up her bag and stood. "My apologies, I''ll be leaving now."

She turned to leave, but Theodore grabbed her arm. "Wait a moment."

Rosalie turned back, her gaze cold. She nced at him briefly before pulling her arm away. "You should take care of Miss Payne. She''s your woman."

With that, she walked away without looking back, her exit unyielding.

"Rose!" Theodore wanted to chase after her, but Aurora suddenly copsed.

Theodore immediately caught her in his arms. "Aurora."

Aurora was still clutching her chest. "Theo, how could you do this?"

"Aurora, it was just a meal. There''s nothing between us."

"Nothing? How many meals have you shared with her over the past few months?"

Theodore was momentarily at a loss for words.

    "What''s wrong? Cat got your

    tongue?" Aurora sobbed. "So many

times, you told me you had

    something important to do. But

what was so important? Turns out, it

    was this."

"Theodore was bedridden after surgery, and yet you did this. You made me feel so betrayed! I''m in so much pain. Why? Why would you treat me like this?" she wailed.

Theodore found himself unable to exin. "Aurora, let''s go home first."

Aurora wiped the tears from her face. "Fine, Theo, let''s go home."

She didn''t want to make a bigger

scene here, especially with other et

people around. If she made a scène, Theodore would undoubtedly hold it against her.

Theodore led Aurora to the entrance, where he saw Rosalie driving away. He stood there, watching her leave for a long time.

Finally, he helped Aurora into the car.

The dinner between Theodore and Rosalie had ended almost as soon as it had begun.
