For three months, Rosalie had bottled everything up, not daring to say or reveal much. Every time she spoke with Sebastian, her tone and demeanor were normal.
Now that she was back, she could no longer hold it in.
"Rose." Sebastian wanted to say more, but Rosalie turned around and said, "Stop trying to persuade me. Stop asking me to stay. I''m begging you, Sebastian!"
Sebastian clenched his fists tightly.
Seeing that he didn''t stop her, Rosalie turned to leave. However, after only a few steps, she suddenly heard a loud bang behind her.
Her heart jolted violently. She recognized that sound-it was unmistakably a gunshot.
Rosalie turned around and saw blood gushing out of Sebastian''s chest. He staggered back a few steps before copsing to the ground with a heavy thud.
Rosalie covered her mouth, staring in shock at Sebastian lying on the ground. She waspletely frozen.
Sebastian struggled to extend his hand toward her. "Rose, please don''t go... Don''t leave."
"Sebastian!" Rosalie rushed over. She trembled as she lifted Sebastian from the ground, her shaking hands pressing against his bleeding wound. "Sebastian, what were you thinking?"
The gun in Sebastian''s hand fell to the ground.
As blood continued to flow out of him, his lips turned increasingly pale. "I''m sorry, Rose. I know I was wrong. This is my way of atoning for Theodore- of making up for what I did wrong."
Tears streamed from the corners of Sebastian''s eyes as he gripped Rosalie''s hand. "Have you regretted saving me all those times? You don''t have to regret it anymore-just let me die."
"No, Sebastian, you can''t die!" Rosalie shouted with all her might. "Someone, help! Come quickly!"
The household staff rushed in upon hearing themotion, only to be terrified at the sight of Sebastian lying on the ground and covered in blood. "What are you standing around for?" Rosalie yelled. "Get the car ready! Hurry!"
At the hospital.

entire time, her eyes filled with exhaustion. When she felt sleepy, she would nap briefly in the chair, but she never left his side.
When Sebastian opened his eyes and saw Rosalie still there, he was overjoyed. "Rose, you didn''t leave."
"You''re awake. How are you feeling?" Rosalie''s face was haggard, her weariness evident. She was utterly drained, both physically and emotionally.
"Rose, why did you save me? I did something wrong. I should pay for it with my life."
Rosalie let out a long sigh. "Sebastian, can you stop doing this? Hurting yourself like this—what''s the point?"
Even though Sebastian had aimed the gun at himself, Rosalie found his actions terrifying. In her view, such behavior was far too extreme.
"I just wanted to atone for my
mistakes. Rose, I don''t know how else to make amends or ease your anger. This is the only way I could think of a life for a life. Although I didn''t kill Theodore, he believes tried to. If that''s the case, then my death would resolve everything."
"What good does this do? For you or me? I''m so tired," Rosalie said helplessly.
"I just hope you can forgive me for this mistake. I know I was wrong That day, I was simply desperate to find you. In my urgency, I said some harsh words, but I really didn''t mean to kill him," Sebastian said.
