Chapter 1068

    ?

Was she upset and felt forced to ept this due to fear of rejecting him?

"If you''re not willing, just tell me. Don''t force yourself. I won''t cause you trouble, too. I''m not a man who would be petty toward women," he said. Sydney shook her head. "I''m not unwilling. It''s just that I''m in huge trouble right now. If I were to be with you, it might affect you negatively."

    "What trouble?"Published by N?v''elD/rama.Org.

He could tell at one nce that she was troubled, but he didn''t want to pursue matters if she wasn''t willing to tell him about it.

"Mr. Jackson, I can tell you about it. If you think it''s not worth the trouble, just send me home and we won''t meet each other ever again. But if you still want me, I''ll divorce my husband and I''ll be with you from now on. You can have any sort of rtionship you want with me, and I won''t tell anyone about it," she said.

He looked at Sydney, believing that she was genuinely facing problems.

Sitting up straight, he said, "Tell me what happened. If you''re really in a bind, I''ll find a way to help you."

Sydney wiped her tears away and sat up on the bed.

    "Geoffrey Carter," she said simply.

His name made Christopher''s face darken.

Sydney told Christopher about everything that had happened, including how Geoffrey forced himself upon her.

However, she didn''t tell Christopher about Sebastian. He was Sebastian''s uncle. If he were to know that Sebastian wasn''t truly a member of the Jackson family, she was worried that they might do something against him.

Christopher''s face darkened further as Sydney told her story. His eyes looked dark and dangerous.

"He did that to you?" He turned around, his brows furrowing and his face turning cold.

Sydney wiped the tears from her eyes. "He''s a madman who doesn''t care about the consequences. Unlike him, I''m worried about the problems the Spencers would have with him once they find out. I didn''t want things to get so bad because of me, so I had no choice but to submit to him. I really want to be rid of him, but I don''t know what to do."

Sydney was overwhelmed with helplessness. Each time Geoffrey forced himself upon her, she found it beyond disgusting. However, she couldn''t reject him due to his threats. He was truly wicked and despicable.

Christopher grabbed a napkin and wiped her tears away. He hugged her shoulders tight and pulled her into his embrace.

"Silly, why didn''t you tell me about it earlier?"

"We didn''t know each other well. I couldn''t possibly tell you about it after having two meals with you. That didn''t seem appropriate."

Christopher looked at her and cupped her cheeks in his hands. "So tell me, did you ever consider asking me for help and telling me about it?" Sydney nodded.

Without any pretense or attempt to hide the truth, she confessed, "I wanted to tell you right from the beginning I was wondering if you''d help me because I could sense you were interested in me and might help me solve my problem. But you didn''t contact me afterward so I dropped the idea. I figured I might have been overthinking things. I didn''t expect you to contact meter on."

    Sydney spoke honestly and cautiously.

She could sense that Christopher liked her and was interested in her, but she wasn''t so confident and sure that he would certainly help her. That was why she didn''t take the initiative to go to him and tell him what happened.

However, now that Christopher had contacted her, had a meal with her, brought her home and even kissed her, she couldn''t hold herself back anymore.
