After Rosalie finished her shower and was about to go to bed, her phone rang.
She answered her phone. "Hello?"
It was Theodore. "Rose."
"Why are you calling me again?" Rosalie frowned. "Can you stop? I really can''t handle youing back into my life again and again..."
"Rose, just hear me out," Theodore interrupted, his voice tinged with urgency.
"What is it now?" Rosalie asked, her tone showing a trace of impatience.
"Did my mom contact you?"
"No, why? Why are you suddenly asking about her?" Rosalie replied.
"She''s missing. We can''t get in touch with her, and we''ve searched everywhere but can''t find her."
Rosalie was shocked, and she immediately set aside her impatience. "She''s missing? Did you report it to the police?"
"Yes, we already did. That''s why I wanted to ask if you''ve been in touch with her."
Rosalie thought back. "I did see herst night at Gary''s Grill."
"Really? What time exactly?"
"Around 8 PM, maybe a little earlier," Rosalie answered. "I had just finished dinner and was about to leave when I saw her with a woman who looked to be in her sixties. She said that the woman was her client. I talked to her for a bit, and then I left. We didn''t contact each other after that."
"She went missingst night. Do you remember what that client looked like?"
Hearing this, Rosalie also sensed that something was wrong and began to feel uneasy.
"I don''t remember clearly. She was wearing heavy makeup, but she
looked very elegant, like a wet
lady. She must have been an important client at the bank. Can you check the restaurant''s surveince footage?"
Theodore''s voice grew heavier. "That''s the problem. The restaurant''s surveince footage is gone, so I have no way of knowing who my mom was with. I''ve been going crazy trying to find her."N?vel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Rosalie held the phone tightly as she stepped into the living room and closed the door. "Are you saying it might have something to do with that client?"
Theodore sighed.
"I don''t know." His tone was filled with anxiety just want to find my mom. It doesn''t make sense for her to bepletely unreachable. The restaurant''s surveince being tampered with is clearly intentional. I''m afraid something''s happened to her."
Rosalie''s concern deepened, though she felt powerless to help.
"Don''t panic. Send people out to search for her and push the police for updates. If you have any connections, use them to help locate her."
"I know. You should rest now. I won''t disturb you anymore."
"Is there anything I can do?" Rosalie asked.
"No, just rest. I can''t have you running around looking for someone in the middle of the night. I''ll figure this out. By the way, Rose, can youe and keep my grandmotherpany tomorrow?"
"Of course," Rosalie said. "I''ll go over in the morning. But...she doesn''t recognize me anymore. Will it be okay?"
"It''s fine. Even if she doesn''t recognize you, she still likes you. She was talking about you today, saying she finds you kind and warm. She also wants to see the baby."
"Okay, I''lle over tomorrow," Rosalie replied.
"Sorry for disturbing you sote," Theodore said apologetically.
"It''s alright. I should be the one apologizing didn''t realize it was something so urgent, so I was a bit harsh at first. Also... I''m still upset that you lied to me, but I''m als
relieved that you don''t have cancer."
On the other end of the line, Theodore fell silent for a long time.
Rosalie didn''t hang up and waited patiently.
