Chapter 1139

    ?

"No, I woke up to use the toilet and switched the lights on. When I did, I realized you weren''t there and was wondering where you went and if Steve cried. I didn''t hear a thing," Rosalie lied, pretending not to know what happened.

Theodore approached her. "Steve did wake up, but he''s fine now. I put him back to sleep."

"Oh," Rosalie said with a smile. "Thank you. Why didn''t you wake me up?"

"You were sound asleep, so I didn''t wake you up. Don''t worry-Steve''s fast asleep now, so go back to sleep. I''ll switch the lights off."

Theodore made a move to press the switch.

Just then, Rosalie called out to him. "Theo."

    "What''s the matter?" he asked.

Rosalie looked at him and opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out after a long time. Intense emotions roiled in the depths of her eyes.

"Rose, are you feeling unwell?" Theodore walked toward her, looking worried. He lifted a hand and felt her forehead. "Are you feeling ill? Tell me." "I''m not unwell," Rosalie said, pushing his hand away.

At that moment, she wanted to tell him that Steve was his child. However, she changed her mind at the veryst minute.

If she told him right now, she didn''t know how he would react.

She felt panicked in the middle of the night.

Some secrets were harder to talk about the longer they were kept hidden.

Theodore saw how anxious Rosalie was being, and immediately sat on the bedside. "What exactly is going on? Just tell me if there''s anything. Did Aurora upset you again? I''ll have someone send her away right now."

"No, it has nothing to do with her. It''s just that I woke up in the middle of the night and can''t really go back to sleep. It''s nothing else, so don''t worry." Theodore continued sitting on the bedside with no intention of leaving. "Rose, I have something to tell you."

    "What is it?"

    "Aurora and I..."

    "About you two, don''t—"

"Rose," Theodore said as he held her hand, cutting her off. "Please hear

The genuine plea in Theodore''s eyes made Rosalie say softly, "Alright, go on."

"I''ve told Aurora that I''ll make a clean break with her."

    Rosalie nodded. "And then?"

"I''ll talk to her about it in a few days. All along, I''ve taken her as your recement. I''m truly a bastard, and I know I''ve gone too far."

The regret on his face made Rosalie

sigh. "Theo, do you like Aurora? Do you fancy her, even just a little bit? Did you ever have feelings for her?"

"You''re the one I love. How could I fall for another?" Theodore answered her without any hesitation. "You love me, but you slept with her. How could you say that you havepletely no feelings for her?"

Rosalie didn''t believe his words. Even if it wasn''tpletely false, she was certain a part of it was untrue. Theodore knew he had nowhere to hide before Rosalie.

"I admit that I pitied her and that was after I lost all hope in you, which was why I did something so foolish. But Rose, you were pregnant with Sebastian''s child. I want you to tell me the truth. Before we got divorced, did you sleep with Sebastian?"

Rosalie''s fists clenched tight under the sheets. She had never slept with Sebastian, not even once.

"Theo, you thought that I slept with Sebastian, so you took revenge on me. Is that right?"Têxt belongs to N?velDrama.Org.

    "Rose, don''t change the subject."

"I''m not changing the subject. Theo, if you want to know the answer, then I—"

Suddenly, a shriek sounded from outside.

    "Oh no! Help!"
