Theodore had always heeded Rosalie''s words. He instructed the bodyguards to stand guard at the door of the ward, and the four of them went to the lounge.
They found an empty table, sat down, and quietly ate their breakfast. Both Theodore and Rosalie appeared visibly downcast.
Aurora nced at the two of them and tried tofort them. "Grandma will be fine. She''s such a kind person, and kind people are always blessed." "Yes, that''s right," Angie echoed. "She''ll be fine."
Theodore responded with a soft "Thanks."
"After breakfast, you both should leave. I''ll be staying at the hospital to apany Grandma for the time being. You can go sightseeing if you''d like," Theodore continued.
"Theo, we can stay here to keep Grandmapany as well. No need to be so formal with us," Aurora said.
"Exactly," Angie added. "There''s nothing more important right now than Grandma."
Theodore had no energy to argue with them. "Suit yourselves, then."Property ? of N?velDrama.Org.
Seeing Theodore''s reluctance to talk to her, Aurora felt both frustrated and disheartened. He was probably using this opportunity to get closer to Rosalie again.
Just then, a voice rang out. "Theo."
Hearing that familiar voice, Theodore lifted his head and saw Cynthia walking toward them.
Rosalie felt a strange sense of detachment upon seeing Cynthia. It had been a long time since she hadst seen thetter.
Cynthia walked over. She was dressed in a suit, carrying a handbag, and wearing high heels. She exuded the aura of a strong and capable businesswoman.
"Rosalie, you''re here too," Cynthia remarked before shifting her gaze to Aurora. "And you as well."
She remembered seeing Aurora at the hospital before, and her impression of Aurora was anything but favorable.
"What are you doing here?" Theodore asked.
"I brought my father for a check-up," Cynthia replied. "By the way, it''s been a while. How have you been? Why are you here at the hospital? Did something happen?"
"Grandma was injured," Theodore answered.
"Oh no, Grandma got hurt?" Cynthia''s concern was immediate. "How is she now?"
"She''s in aa. She fell down the stairs," Theodore exined.
"Oh my goodness," Cynthia said. "Theo, Grandma will surely be fine. I''ll pray for her."
Theodore didn''t say much more. He had lost his appetite and couldn''t focus on breakfast.
"Rosalie, it''s been such a long time," Cynthia said, smiling at her.
Cynthia''s demeanor had changed. Gone was the soft and fragile air she used to carry. Lately, she had been pouring all her efforts into her
career With Yerick''s help, she he had
gained control of her family''s
company.
Previously she had clung to Theodore relentlessly, partly for financial support and partly because she liked him. Now that she was rich, she had solved 90% of her life''s problems.
Money, as it turned out, was far sweeter than love.
Rosalie cast Cynthia a brief nce and responded simply. "Yes."
The atmosphere felt stiflingly awkward.
The most ufortable person, however, was Theodore. After all, three women who had a history with him were all in the same room.
"Well, I''ll leave you to it. My dad is still waiting for me," Cynthia said before turning and walking away.
"It seems like she''s been doing welltely," Rosalie said with a faint smile.
She no longer harbored intense resentment toward Cynthia. The past was in the past, and there was no point dwelling on it.
"I have no idea what she''s been up
to recently. I haven''t been in contact with her for a long time. Today''s encounter was purely coincidental," Theodore exined.
Worried Rosalie might misunderstand, Theodore was anxious to rify.
