Rosalie treated the author to lunch.
The author had wanted to treat Rosalie to a meal, but Rosalie insisted on expressing her gratitude and the author didn''t reject her. Justin and Steve joined them for lunch, too.
Justin was tall and handsome, and the author''s eyes lit up when she saw him. "My my! You look just like the male lead of my story."
Justin smiled awkwardly. "You''re too kind."
"Oh,e on! You''ll be the inspiration for my next male lead. He''ll have the same family name, the female lead will take Rosalie''s family name and the both of them will have a cute baby together."
It was now Rosalie''s turn to feel awkward. She and Justin exchanged nces.
Steve suddenlyughed in Justin''s arms and cooed, "Dada, Mama."
It now became impossible for Justin and Rosalie to rify the true status of their rtionship.
Justin drove Rosalie back home. Steve sat in the car seat at the back while Rosalie sat in the front passenger seat.
Awkwardness filled the air between Justin and Rosalie.
Perhaps it was due to what the author said. However, they didn''t detest it.
Justin could sense the awkwardness and said with a faint smile, "Don''t take her words to heart. She merely said it in passing."
Rosalie nodded with a smile.
All of a sudden, Rosalie''s gazended on a figure outside the car and she immediately said to Justin, "Please stop the car." The anxious look on Rosalie''s face made Justin immediately stop the car by the roadside.
"What''s the matter?"
"I saw someone. I need to hop out to take a look. Please help me watch Steve."
With that, Rosalie opened the car door and got out of the car.
Justin saw Rosalie running toward a middle-ageddy who was shocked to see Rosalie. She immediately turned and ran.
Rosalie outran her and managed to grab her arm. “What are you doing here?"
La wanted to shake her off, but Rosalie refused to let her go.
"La, stop struggling!"
Thest time she saw La was a long time ago. La had gotten injured and Rosalie had sent her to the hospital for the sole reason of wanting to find out about her parents.
She had a paternity test done and found out that she wasn''t her parents biological child. However, after the test results were out, many things happened and she forgot about this.
La eventually fled. Rosalie didn''t expect to bump into her here.Belongs to N?velDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
"Rose, I''m very sorry about what happened before. I''ll kneel and apologize to you here, okay? Please spare me."
"I''m not the biological child of my parents," Rosalie said. "What exactly do you know about my biological parents? Tell me!"
"Your...your biological parents..." La swallowed past her constricted throat. "I can tell you about them, but you have to give me some money in return."
La was leading a hard life, evident from her torn and tattered clothes. She hadn''t kicked her nasty habit of gambling and her creditors were always on her tail.
Rosalie shook her hand off. “La, you know very well that gambling ruins lives, but you continue doing it. You''ll just gamble away the money I give you."
"Do you want to know about your biological parents or not?"
Rosalie clenched her fists.
Justin looked on in the car as the scene before him unfolded.
Rosalie was talking to a middle-ageddy a short distance away. He could tell that thedy looked scared of Rosalie.
After a while, Rosalie brought thedy over, opened the car door, and pushed her into the back seat. Rosalie then sat in the front passenger seat. Justin stopped the car at a restaurant up ahead.
"Alright, we''re here." Justin didn''t say anything further. They just had lunch and he guessed that Rosalie wanted to take this middle-ageddy out for a meal.
Justin didn''t ask anything, but Rosalie took the initiative to exin, “She''s my aunt."
"Oh, I see.” Justin nced at thedy through the rearview mirror and greeted, "Hello."
La nodded at him and forced a smile.
Justin could tell that Rosalie didn''t
share a good rtionship with her aunt and that something must have happened between them, but he didn''t want to probe too much right now.
