Chapter 0307

Nichs''s tall figure cast a shadow over the hallway, dimming the overhead lights and fueling the anger in my heart.

Of course. If Nichs wasn''t backing Jasmine up, how could she have the means to locate them and devise such a maniptive scheme?

It didn''t matter who was the mastermind behind this. In some way, Nichs and Jasmine were one and the same.

I looked at the man before me, a calm smile tugging at my lips. The constant running around had left my clothes so wrinkled that no amount of smoothing would help.

In contrast, he looked immacte in his tailored ck suit without a single crease in sight. He held his head high, not even bothering to nce at me.

If he wanted to pretend I didn''t exist, I wasn''t going to waste my time trying to get his attention.

I stopped looking at him and lowered my head as I walked past, although I felt a sharp pain throughout my entire body.

Eventually, Nichs and I had reached this point of being at odds. Suddenly, he grabbed my arm. From the moment his hand touched me, my hair stood on end. It felt like an electric shock, and I shook off his hand. He spoke abruptly. "Don''t you have anything you want to say to me?"

For a brief moment, I considered saying something. However, I knew a few simple words wouldn''t change the situation.

Without turning back, I replied, "No time for catching up. Sorry."

I had just lifted my foot to leave when his voice drifted down from above. "Your time means nothing to me."

He pressed down on my shoulder and asked, "Now that time has stopped, do you want to go back to the past or keep risking everything?"

He gripped me so tightly that no matter how hard I tried to lift my arm, I couldn''t break free.

"I wanted to hold your hand in the past, but now it just makes me want to run away!"

My gaze fell mockingly on his hand. "There is no past between us."

He instinctively lifted his hand and grasped at empty air, and time seemed to freeze once more. He closed his eyes briefly. When he opened them again, they revealed none of his emotions.

He pointed to the end of the hallway, spitting out one cold word. "Leave!"

He told me to leave, but he was the first to turn around. He hurried into Jasmine''s ward as if the one who had been stalling outside the door wasn''t him at all.

Jasmine''s ward. I expected to hear crying or Nichs''s angry voice from inside, but there was nothing.

I came to my senses soon and quickly left. I couldn''t care less about what they were doing. If Nichs decided toe out and seek

revenge for his fiancée, I would

    really be in trouble.

Once inside Jasmine''s ward, Nichs rubbed his temples. He felt the headache grow as he watched her crying on the bed.

Feeling guilty, she didn''t dare to look at him. Neither of them spoke a word. Finally, Jasmine couldn''t hold back any longer.

"Nick, I did this for you. I just wanted Ariana toe back to you sooner. Once she''s out of options, she''ll have no choice but to return to your side."

Nichs slowly walked over to her.

Seeing Jasmine in such a pitiful state made him feel sorry for her. But if he allowed Jasmine to continue causing trouble, he knew that would only drift further away from him, not closer.

"Jasmine, I bought you a house abroad, and I transferred 50 million to your ount. Our partnership is over."
