Chapter 0635
Nina
The moment I stepped into the bustling party, I was utterly shocked. The transformation of the banquet hall was nothing short of magical.
The ceiling, now an enchanting night sky, was illuminated by the shimmering lights of the aurora borealis. It painted the room with shades of green, pink, and violet, creating an ethereal atmosphere that left Jessica, Lon, and me awestruck.
"Wow," Jessica whispered, her eyes wide as she gazed up at the enchanting disy.
Lori nodded in agreement. "I''ve never seen anything like this," she said softly. "It''s breathtaking."
I could only nod in response, just as shocked as they were. The ceiling must have been magically charmed, which I was certain must have been quite the expense for my parents. And to think that I had thought the decorations looked beautiful before. Now, it felt like I had stepped into a magical wondend.
"I wonder where the boys went off to," Jessica said, standing on her tiptoes to see over the bustling crowd. "They''ve been elusive all day."
I couldn''t help butugh. "Probably already at the bar," I teased, looking around as well. But through the thick throng of people, it was almost impossible to see them. I was amazed at the turnout of this event; it felt almost as though the entire werewolf realm hade to join in on the fun.
For a little while, Lori, Jessica and I weaved our way through the crowd in search of Enzo and Matt. Finally, Lori''s fingers brushed mine, and she pointed toward a corner of the room. "Hey, there they are," she said, nodding her head toward the two tall figures approaching us.
I followed her gaze and spotted them, my heart skipping a beat at the sight of Enzo. He looked exceptionally handsome in his well-fitted tuxedo, his dark hair impably styled. Even though he was my husband, I couldn''t help but feel starstruck in that moment, like a teenager who had just spotted the cutest boy at the party.
Matt walked along beside him, his fingers wrapped around a drink ss. He was already chatting with a girl, a beautiful woman with long red hair and an emerald green dress.
"Looks like Matt already found a date," Jessica teased with a yful grin.
But my eyes were really only on Enzo. I must have lookedpletely awed, because Lori and Jessica exchanged knowing nces before pushing me forward. "Go on, Nina," Lori urged with a wink. "It''s your party. Go and dance with your husband."Còntens bel0ngs to N?(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
I couldn''t argue with that logic, and with a nervous but excited smile, I headed in Enzo''s direction, Enzo caught sight of me, and his face lit up with a brilliant smile as he approached.
"May I have this dance, my beautiful Luna?" he asked, holding out his hand like a true gentleman.
I ced my hand in his, feeling a warmth spread through me at his touch. "You may,"I replied, returning his smile.
As we stepped onto the dance floor, the soft strains of a waltz filled the air. Enzo''s strong anm encircled my waist, drawing me close, and I rested my hand on his shoulder as we began to sway to the music. Our bodies moved in perfect harmony, and the world around us faded into the background.
Enzo leaned in, his breath warm against my ear. "You look absolutely perfect tonight, Nina," he murmured. "Like a real princess."
My cheeks flushed, and a shiver went down my spine. "You don''t look half bad yourself, Alpha," I cooed in response, eliciting a chuckle from Enzo.
We danced in silence for a while, content to let the music guide our movements. The enchanting disy above us added to the romantic atmosphere, making it feel as though we were dancing beneath the real night sky.
Finally, unable to resist any longer, Enzo leaned down and pressed his lips to mine in a soft, lingering kiss. His lips were sweet and warm, and his scent enveloped me-a pleasant mixture of leather and smoke and something uniquely Enzo.
As the waltz came to an end, Enzo and I made our way outside, hand in hand. The cool air of the gardens, although bustling with partygoers, was a wee reprieve from the heat and the throng of inside. We each took a deep breath, inhaling the night air.
"This is quite the turnout," I said as we began to stroll through the garden pathways. "I didn''t expect so many people to be here."
"Me neither," Enzo said. "It''s packed inside."
We kept walking for a few moments longer, just taking in the sights and sounds and smells of the gardens, before I suddenly remembered something. I stopped, reaching into the small clutch I was carrying and retrieved the delicate feather I had found on my sister''s grave the other day.
"What''s that?" Enzo asked, eyeing the feather curiously.
"I found this the other day," I said, holding it up in the light so Enzo could see the way the colors changed when I moved it around. "I was thinking I could offer it to the Moon Goddess." Enzo shot me a surprised expression. "I didn''t think you believed in that sort of thing."
I shrugged, still gazing down at the feather in my hand. "I just thought it would be nice," I said with a smile. "I.. I found it on Selena''s grave. It felt like a sign. That''s not weird, is it?"
Enzo paused for a moment, taking me in, before he smiled softly and shook his head. "Of course not," he said gently. "We can put it on the altar. What do you want to wish for?"
"I''d like to wish for a healthy baby," I said.
Enzo''s eyes lit up. "That sounds perfect."
Together, we walked to a small altar that had been set up outside, where other offerings had been left. Sitting there were various fruits, crystals, stones, and even money, I carefully ced the feather on the altar, cing it beneath a small rock someone had left so it couldn''t fly away in the wind.
Beside me, Enzo bowed his head, sping his hands together. I followed suit and did the same. We both closed our eyes, and I spoke, feelingpelled to say my wish out loud.
"Moon Goddess, please make sure my baby is happy and healthy." I said quietly.
"And that the pregnancy is smooth and there are no obstacles," Enzo added.
When we finished, we opened our eyes and our gazes met. My cheeks were flushed red, feeling a little silly. But I leaned my head on Enzo''s shoulder, nestling into the warmth of his
body.
Enzo and I looked up at the sky, and in that moment, a shooting star streaked across the dark blue abyss, leaving a trail of light in its wake. I gasped and pointed, my heart skipping a
beat.
"Enzo, look! A shooting start"
Enzo turned to me, a tender smile on his lips. He took my hand and kissed my fingers, then leaned in his breath warm against my ear.
"It seems like the Moon Goddess is listening," he whispered into my ear. "And now, let''s seal that wish with a kiss, shall we?"
Our lips met, and Enzo pulled me close, dipping me low beneath the night sky.
And in that moment, I felt as though the Moon Goddess really was smiling down at us, watching and promising to grant our wish.
