Throughout the journey back home, Alyssa did not utter a word. She looked spent, just like a
broken robot.

Jasper’s unforgiving words felt like someone had poured a bucket of cold water over her. She was
shaking in rage from head to toe. Why had she never noticed that shameless and vile side of him?
Love might not guarantee happiness, but it would certainly turn you blind.
“Ms. Alyssa, I have yed the video per your instruction. Look, Betty is fighting her two friends!”
Sean showed her the video on a phone screen.
She nced at the screen and saw the three women wing at each other in a horrible catfight.
“Tsk tsk. Cat fights are the worst. Ms. Betty is doing pretty well. She’s still holding up even when she’s
fighting the two of them. It’s a pity she didn’t train for wrestling.” Sean chuckled with glee.
“Hmph. They’re pping each other and pulling each other’s hair. Nothing interesting about
those amateur moves.”
Despite that, Alyssa couldn’t take her eyes off the screen. She secretly enjoyed watching it. The fight
among the three women was oddly stress–relieving.
“Did Jasper delete all the photos for real?” Sean still hadn’t gotten over how Jasper had taken
advantage of Alyssa by holding her waist.
However, he reminded himself that Jasper and Alyssa must have engaged in more intimate acts during
their marriage of three years. He had no right to feel angry about their physical contact.
“He has definitely deleted them. He might dislike Betty, but he needed to protect the reputation of the
Beckett Group. To put it in a nice way, he’s focused on the big picture. But you could also say
he’s heartless to his family.”
Sighing, she unlocked her phone. She was surprised that Jasper had remembered her passcode.
Perhaps, he identally nced when she was unlocking her phone one day and memorized the
passcode until now.
Still, that meant nothing. Jasper, who had never loved her truly, would never figure out the
meaning behind the passcode.
It was the date when Jasper saved her from the mountains thirteen years ago. That was also their first
encounter. Shemented, thinking that her love and affection probably meant nothing to him.
“What do we do next? Ms. Betty will not listen to us now that we lost our bargaining chip to Jasper.
Sean sighed sullenly.
Suddenly, Alysan gasped as her eyes widened. She found Jasper’s number in her contact list.
“A fucking roque! He’s a sly and unstoppable rascal!” She silently cursed him.
At might, Jasper returned to the Seaview Manor from the Beckett Group office. It had been drizzling for
a while. He stared at the condensation on the car window, which reminded him of
Alice’s eyes
However, her eyes were filled with endless resentment, which added to his glum mood.
He lifted his chin. The neon lights from the outside illuminated his jaw and added a touch of S**y
charm. He tugged on the perfect Windsor knot on his tie. The smoothness of the fabric reminded
hum of Alice’s tiny waist.
He swallowed hard as he breathed shallowly. He desperately wanted to chase the memory of her eyes
out of his mind but to no avail.
Alice White was getting bolder by the day. Back then, she was too shy to even hold his hand during
their marriage. However, after their divorce, she brazenly challenged him in public. What
did she take him for?
“Mr. Jasper Xavier timidly called out to him with hesitation.
“Go on.” Jasper sounded unfriendly because he was frustrated by his thoughts of Alice.
“Um… Ms. Betty’s scandal is the talk of the town. The popr sentiment is that rich kids are assholes
who think they can walk over other people. Do you think we should…‘
“Leave it.”
“I fear that Madam Sophia willin to Mr. Javier if we do nothing. He might give you trouble.
“Xavier was concerned.
Jasper’s eyes darkened as a smirk appeared on his lips. “What are you afraid of when I have nothing
to fear?”
Then, they heard a text notification on Xavier’s phone.
“Mr. Jasper, I received the surveince footage you requested for.”
Jasper looked up and took the phone from Xavier. He saw the scene where Alice was confronting
Betty. Betty was acting brashly and making threats. He watched as Alice fought back against Betty,
who had attempted to hit her.
