"Hello... What?! Come again?!"
Helen and Frank both answered their calls at the same time, and their reactions were also identical.
"I''m sorry, Mr. Lawrence, but there''s this group who came to the lobby and made a scene, refusing to leave. They im you and Ms. Lane stole theirnd!"
"I''m sorry, Ms. Lane... But your mother, brother and cousin are here. I''m keeping them at bay, but they keep demanding something about returning theirnd?"
The reports they received were basically the same, and both of them were gloomy when they realized that it was Gina.
The fact that Gina chose toe now made her goal very clear-she found out that the value of thatnd lot she sold had skyrocketed.
"How could she..."
Helen actually wanted to say out loud how Gina had the cheek to mention thatnd lot, but remembered that it was her mother. Her face flushed right then, and she was speechless even as she quaked with rage.
"It''s alright, just calm down. We''re heading back right now!" Frank said as he hung up and pulled Helen along.
"Hey! Your orders!" a waitress shouted at them.
"Oh, just give it to the two gentlemen over there. I''ve already paid," Helen said brusquely.
Even before the two desk jockeys could say a thing, the waitress put down the pasta in front of them.
"Compliments from the beautifuldy just now," she said exasperatedly.
Both desk jockeys were left gaping and immediately fantasizing.
"She''s buying us food?"
"Does that mean she''s in love with me?"
"Tch..." The waitress who saw everything rolled her eyes, clicked her tongue, and turned to leave.
To no surprise, when Frank and Helen returned to Lanecorp, they found Gina sitting on the floor, making a scene.
Helen knew this could happen but could not help feeling a migraine and a stifling sensation in her chest when she actually saw it.
She almost choked and cked out, but Frank caught her quickly even as she wobbled and infused a gentle sliver of pure vigor into her back.
It calmed and stilled Helen''s spirits so that she did not loseposure right then.
Meanwhile, business partners and Lanecorp employees were flocking around Gina at the lobby.
Some were sneering and shaking
their heads, while others were juset
watching keenly to see how things would develop, as if it was not a
huge mess already.
"You need to leave right now, Frank," Helen told Frank after quickly doing the math. "They will definitely demand thatnd lot from you if you show up. I know you''re not bothered, but we''ve been tolerating them enough times to see that they will
never be satisfied. As oneContent from N?velDr(a)ma.Org.
as you''re not around, I can use that as an excuse to tell them to leave."
"Okay." Frank frowned.
He was going to suggest letting Gina have thatnd lot, but he soon noticed that Cindy and Peter were in the crowd around Gina too.
He therefore gave up on that
idea-even if he was willing to give
up thend lot for nothing, he still would not sell it to Peter as he remembered how Peter had mocked him over the phone just recently.
