It was veryte into the night Frank arrived at Favoni House in Norsedam.
He actually found the ancient furnishings around the residence curious as a servant led him inside.
The Favonis really were a martial arts n, with everything from the architecture, gardens, to fountains decorated in traditional styles.
He was brought to a drawing room and served a ss of expensive tea.
Frank did not expect such a polite gesture-he even thought the Favonis would want revenge.
Nheless, he soon found a familiar face.
It was Ste Favoni, wearing form-fitting training robes and appearing shocked to see him there. "It really is you... W-What are you doing here? Wait, don''t tell me..." Ste''s face paled as she thought Frank came for revenge.
Even from her perspective, Frank was the one who was attacked for no reason at Lanecorp, ndered by her family and the Bearsons before being coerced into that duel. They had insulted Frank profoundly, and it was only natural for him toe for revenge now.
Seeing that Ste was anxious, Frank lowered his teacup and shook his head, smiling. "I''m not here for revenge-I''m not that petty."
"No?" Ste blinked and pressed, "Then, you came because..."
"I''m searching for someone."
"Searching for someone?"
"Yes." Frank nodded and said quietly, "I''m looking for the chief of the Martial Alliance. I''m hoping that someone here would know."
"The chief of the Martial Alliance?!"
Ste''s gaze flickered even as she heard the title and she quickly said, "I-I wouldn''t know, so you should ask my father. He''s already been
ove
notified, and he will be here soon."
Her flustered reaction naturally did not escape Frank''s notice. However, he simply made a mental note, nodding quietly and refrained from pressing her.
He just had to wait and see what her father had to say.
Soon, the man in question arrived in dramatic fashion.
Chet strode toward Frank, nked by his servants and the Favoni martial artists.
He had a stoic expression and the air of a man who made difficult decisions-clearly the head of the family whom Ste mentioned.
On his left was Edon, who had a strut in his gait and was already ring at Frank hostilely.
On his right was a pale,
bespectacled man in a white suit. He
was the youngest of the three
brothers, but his eyes were like.
vipers, and he was constantly, sneering, as if he did that all the
time.
"I''ve been looking forward to meeting you, Mr. Favoni." Frank stood up, nodding at Chet.Content property of N?velDra/ma.Org.
Formalities were necessary, even before he decided if Chet was friend or foe.
Seeing that Frank was being polite, Chet nodded in turn, his expression calm but stern. "To what do we owe the pleasure, Mr. Lawrence?"
"I won''t call it pleasure." Frank smiled as he sat down. "I''ve merely been asked to find the chief of the Martial Alliance."
"What?"
Chet did a double take and nced at Lubor in reflex-which Frank immediately noted and asked, "Would you happen to have a clue, Mr. Favoni?"
Chet did not directly answer Frank''s
question, instead asking quietly, "May I ask who''s asked you, and why you''re looking for the chief of the Martial Alliance?"
