?
Both police officers were shaking their heads coldly even before Helen could finish.
One of them even asked, "Don''t you think you''re a little too concerned about your career? Also, you''re now suspected of a drunken ident. Or perhaps you''re trying to make it a hit-and-run?"
"I-I''m not."
Helen sighed urgently. "But this negotiation is very important—"
"Wait."
Frank strode up past the yellow line, walking up to the puddle of blood. "Officers, may I ask where the victim is?"
Both officers were speechless. "An ambnce came and took him away."
"Took him where?" Frank pressed.
The officer snorted, waving him off impatiently. "Zamri Hospital, of course. Do we really have to spell it out for you?"
The other officer then whipped out a pair of handcuffs and pped them on Helen''s wrists. "Alright, beautiful. There''s no point calling your husband to defend you you''reing with us."
While he was considerate enough to cover the cuffs with a jacket, Frank strode up, stopping him before he could lead Helen away. "Wait!"
Both officers scowled right then. "What, is this an obstruction of justice?"
Frank smiled in turn. "Haha, I wouldn''t dare. I''d just like to ask my wife a few questions."
While Helen felt warmth inside her when Frank called her his wife, he leveled a serious look at her. "Give me the address to Shen Group''s office." Helen did as she was told, but her eyes soon widened. "Are you suspecting them...?"
"Yeah."
Frank smirked darkly, but he walked up to pat her head. "I''d never believe that you were drunk driving, let alone get inte an ident. So just sit tight and wait-I will definitely clear your name."
"I... Frank..."
Helen felt a pang inside as she saw the determination in Frank''s eyes, just as she understood how warm it was to be trusted unconditionally.
It stung her to remember all the misunderstandings she had with Frank before, and she leaned against Frank like a distressed younger girl.
"Alright, alright. How much longer are you gonna take?"
The officers soon had enough and started to drag Helen away.
Frank did not stop them and instead quietly said, "Don''t worry, Helen. I won''t let you get hurt-I will definitely clear your name soon."
"Yeah!"
Helen nodded, tears welling up in her eyes.
Frank then watched them as they left and whipped out his phone to call Vicky Turnbull. "Hey..."
"Ohohoho..."
Vicky giggled gleefully after Frank told her the whole story. "I really didn''t expect aw-abiding citizen
like Helen to be arrested t
Property of N?)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Still, she soon assured Frank, "Don''t worry. I''ll be there with her. I mean, we can''t allow her to be bullied right? Like being paraded on the streets naked or stuff like that. You have nothing to worry about as long as I''m around."
Frank was left raising a brow at Vicky''s assurance, somehow feeling worried instead.
