    Juan ignored her outburst, turning away and heading upstairs.


    Across town in his office, Edgar watched the news on the TV and kicked over the table.


    “What’s going on?” he barked.


    Chace bowed his head, replying, “Sir, I don’t know.”


    Edgar’s voice was like thunder. “I told you to guard outside the wardst night. What did you do? Did you even hear their conversation?”


    Juan loved Debra deeply. It made no sense for him to suddenly decide to divorce Debra and marry Shelia. There had to be more to the story.


    “Go check this out right now. Find out if this is true,” Edgar growled.


    He had gone to great lengths to establish himself in Seamar City, bing Jade’s fiancé to manage the ir family and expand the Odom family’s business. And now, Juan was threatening to ruin everything.

    Juan hung up, leaving Edgar seething with rage. He threw the phone to the ground, his voice filled with fury.

    Edgar grabbed Chace by the cor. “Contact Shelia. Tell her toe to me immediately.”
