Debra jolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest. Darkness pressed in from all sides, an oppressive silence enveloping the room. Drake''s mocking voice echoed in her mind. "Imagine Marion''s reaction when he finds out I''ve taken you."
Reality sank in like a stone. She flung the covers off, attempting to rise, when a wave of dizziness hit her hard.
Drake had injected her with something on the ne. Whatever it was, it had drained her of every ounce of strength.
Suddenly, the lights flickered on, flooding the room with a harsh brightness. Debra blinked rapidly, her vision slowly adjusting as she took in her surroundings.
The room was massive and suffocating in its opulence, decked out in borate Baroque style. Complex carvings adorned the walls, and oversized portraits loomed down from above, making the air oppressive. A voice broke her trance. "Ms. Frazier, our boss has asked me to help you change clothes."
Startled, Debra turned sharply toward the doorway. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Standing there was none other than Lara, whom she had trusted with the evidence of Drake''s crimes.
"It''s you." Debra''s voice came out hoarse.
When she was abducted by Drakest time, she entrusted everything to Lara and sent thetter to Seamar City.
She initially thought that Lara had missed connecting with Marion. She had even asked Ben to search for Lara, but to no avail.
She never imagined that Lara would reappear by Drake''s side.
Lara''s expression was unreadable as she stepped closer. "Ms. Frazier, please change and follow me. Our boss is waiting for you in the hall."
"Boss?" The word hung in the air, a grim confirmation of Lara''s betrayal.
Debra''s stomach dropped. She used to think Lara was an innocent girl. It turned out she was dead wrong.
"You were working for Drake all along?" Debra asked.
She rarely misjudged people, but this time, she had misced her trust.
Lara averted her gaze and bit her lip. "Just given
up, Ms. Frazier. This is Orkgate and Mr. Lowe''s territory. No one can get you out."
She stood up and walked to the door. This is from N?velDrama.Org.

"Oh, really. How thoughtful of him!"
Debra felt weak and unsteady on her feet as she followed Lara downstairs.
In the hall, Drake was sitting at the long table. There were only two dishes Drake was facing a simple fried egg and toast while another dish covered with a cloche was in front of Debra''s seat.
