Chapter 782

It seemed inevitable that Debra would be left alone with Kale.

Before long, Kale entered the room, his demeanor as unyielding as ever.

"Mr. Lowe has asked me to take you home."

    "I know."

With a sigh, Debra threw off the nket and struggled to get out of bed. Kale, however, made no move to assist her, merely standing by like a heartless automaton.

Debra inhaled sharply as pain shot through her. A nurse passing by rushed over to help. "Are you her family? How can you just stand there and watch your wife in pain without offering a hand?" Kale frowned, annoyance flickering in his eyes.

Debra exined, "He''s not my husband, but just a friend."

"Even so, he shouldn''t just stand by. He should be helping," the nurse insisted, cing Debra''s arm in Kale''s.

When he tried to pull away, the nurse firmly said, "This patient is injured. You need to support her properly while she walks. If her wound tears open, she''ll need another round of treatment." "Thank you. He''ll take good care of me," Debra said, leaning heavily against Kale''s arm.

Despite the pressure, Kale''s muscr arm remained rigid. However, after the nurse''s scolding, he finally started guiding her into the elevator.

Once outside, he drove the car to the hospital entrance and opened the door for Debra.

As she climbed in, Kale slid into the driver''s seat, and the car began to move. Through the rearview mirror, Debra caught a glimpse of Kale''s expressionless face. He was no better than a machine. They drove for a while, but the familiarndmarks remained absent.

"This road doesn''t lead to the vi, does it?" Debra asked, her voiceced with suspicion.

In the few days she had spent in Orkgate, she had memorized the routes around Drake''s vi.

There was no way it should take over twenty minutes to get there from the hospital.

Kale remained silent, his focus avering. Growing uneasy, D

Suddenly, Kale mmed on the brakes, yanking her out of the car. They found themselves on a deserted road in an undevelopedmercial area, a man-madeke glimmering nearby. Kale dragged her toward it, his intentions clear.

"What are you doing?" Debra asked, struggling to keep herposure.

She realized if Kale wanted to kill her there, no one would stop him.

His voice was as cold as the wind. "Tell me why you''re sticking close to Mr. Lowe, or I''ll kill you."

"He didn''t, but I won''t let anyone pose a threat to him."

Kale''s gaze gleamed with murderous intent, but Debra took a step back, desperately holding her ground.Content is property of N?velDrama.Org.
