Chapter 1405

Justin felt a sinking feeling in his heart and quickly turned to Be. "Be, I''ll go see them by myself."

All the gossip and negativements about Be were spreading everywhere, especially in a sensitive environment like a hospital. Any disagreements with the families of the witnesses could pose a risk to Be.

Justin was prepared to deal with it all on his own, but he couldn''t bear to see her go through any of it. It would be too painful for him to witness her suffering.

"I understand your intention, Justin," Be said soothingly as she covered his hand with hers. "But they''re really eager to meet me, and if I hadn''t pushed to see Rachel, things wouldn''t have gotten so out of control. I''ve just got to take the lead here, apologize, and show them that I mean it. You know me. Hiding is not my style."

"I''m not one to hide either," Justin said, looking deeply into her eyes and holding her hand tightly. "I''lle with you."

Even though Rachel was ced in a VIP ward with strict privacy and security measures, Steven was still worried that the victims'' families might make a scene at the hospital and damage Be''s reputation. So, he made sure they were taken to the VIP area as fast as possible.

Be and Justin stood side by side in the corridor, watching anxiously as Mrs. Mead and the other victim hurried toward them. Despite her calm expression, Be felt a sense of unease in her heart. The three individuals stopped in front of them.

Justin''s eyes held a hint of vignce amidst their icy stare, while Steven also kept a close watch, fearing any impulsive actions toward Be.

Mrs. Mead still had tears glistening on her face, and her eyes were as red as those of a lioness who had not slept in days. Even though she had not said anything yet, it was clear from the look on her face that she held some strong resentment toward Be.Copyright N?v/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Be clenched her numb fingers and was about to speak when she was interrupted.

"Ms. Thompson! President Salvador! I beg of you... Please, you must save my daughter! I''m begging you!" With a thud, the parents of the other victim unexpectedly kneeled before them.

"P-Please, please get up! Please don''t do this. Let''s talk things out calmly!" Be and Justin hurried forward to support them, but then et parents of the girl were already sobbing uncontrobly, their bodies stil heavy as they sank down.

If it were not for Steven''s timely assistance, Be feared she would not be able to support the grieving mother!

"Please... Promise you''ll save my child... If not, I won''t get up!" The girl''s mother sobbed deeply, her tears falling nonstop and her grief tugging at her heart.

Be''s chest ached, and her eyes teared up. "Please don''t cry. It''s not good for your health. Please stand up first and talk slowly."

"What''s the meaning of you twoing here to cry in front of our Young Madam?"

"I''ve been the onemunicating with you on behalf of Young Madam and President Salvador all this time. Have you forgotten how you treated us? Young Madam did consider helping you out, offering a way to escape your troubles, and yet, you rejected it."

n, that''s enough!" Justin''s eyes narrowed, and his voice was stern.

Mrs. Mead erupted with fury, her finger pointed directly at Be as she eximed, "Helping us?) Is this your idea of helping? If it weren''t for you, my daughter wouldn''t have been subjected to such cruelty! All you cared about was using her

testimony to settle your own scores. Did it ever ur to you that it would have an impact on regr people like us? My seventeen-year-old has already endured so much, and all she wants now is a chance at a peaceful life. Can''t you give her that?"

Since it was Rachel''s mother,n did not confront her, but her words still infuriated him. He could not believe how sharp and perceptive Rachel was at such a young age, yet her mother seemed so out of touchn was fuming, his chest heaving with anger, and his eyes zing with fury.

It felt like Mrs. Mead had not learned anything from life. Could someone with such muddled thinking really be responsible for a child?

"The Iverson family has been keeping a close watch on everything you do. Do you really want your daughter to grow up with no privacy and under ve constant surveince?" Justin frowned, clearly annoyed by Mrs. Mead''sck ofmon sense.
