Gregory felt like his throat had been stabbed, looking directly at Justin''s cold face. The authority of the aristocratic leader was about to crumble.
"Justin! You ingrate! If it were fake, I wouldn''t have gone against all odds and endured bacsh just to bring you and your mother back from the slums to the Salvador family."
He continued, "If it weren''t for me, you would have died in that dirty and smelly ce long ago! Have you forgotten how ill your mother was at that time? She didn''t even have the money to go to the hospital for medical treatment! She couldn''t even support you! If it weren''t for me, how could she have recovered from her serious illness? How could you live a good life of being pampered and having everything you want?!"
Seeing the man in front of her being used and treated unfairly, Be felt distressed as an onlooker. Her heart burned with intense emotion, and her blood was boiling in her veins as she clenched her fists tightly.
Up until now, Gregory hadn''t been talking to his son as a husband or father. Instead, he came across more like a capitalist, acting high and mighty and offering fake generosity to Justin and his mother with a self-righteous attitude.
Although everything he said made sense, every word he said only implied one thing. He and Justin have never belonged in the same world. It was him, out of boundless generosity, who allowed Justin to escape from that wretched, filthy, stinking slum. It was his simple gesture that allowed Justin to be lucky enough to enter his world.
It was that natural arrogance and sense of superiority, rather than a direct insult, that made one feel more enraged and embarrassed.
"No matter what, I''m the one who raised you! Without me, where would you be today? Would you still have the audacity to be so disrespectful and rebellious to me?!" Gregory''s mouth was like a rapid-fire cannon. His eyes were red as he unleashed his fury on Justin.
Justin replied, "If I weren''t a boy but a girl instead, would you still have gone to such lengths to bring me back to the Salvador family? Would you still remember that there was a poor woman out there, nameless and destitute, struggling to survive, living in hunger and homelessness, solely responsible for nurturing your flesh and blood?"
"You insolent brat!" Gregory''s aristocratic demeanor finally crumbled, his embarrassment turning into rage as he swung his arm, aiming a p at Justin''s cheek.
Justin remained unfazed. Only his stunning eyes radiated an intense hatred that sent shivers down one''s spine.
Just as everyone was stunned, Gregory suddenly felt a sharp pain in his wrist. His brows furrowed.
Be''s beautiful figure appeared in
front of Justin all of a sudden. She grabbed Gregory''s wrist and
tightened her fingers, as if she wanted to crush his bones. S
"Chairman Salvador!"
Paul and the four bodyguards were so frightened that their faces turned pale, and they rushed to stop him.
However, Be''s face was as cold as ice. She did not even blink, and she had no intention of letting go.
At this moment, Be''s softness and fear vanished as every instinct in her body kicked in to protect the man she loved.
Justin loomed protectively behind
Be, his gaze filled with awe and determination as he dered, "I will kill whoever dares to touch Ms. Thompson!"
A powerful, furious roar stopped them in their tracks, not daring to question the authority of this future heir.Copyright N?v/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"Ms. Thompson, I am disciplining my own son... As an outsider, must you meddle in our affairs?!" Gregory asked as he held back the pain.
Be looked at him coldly, her gentle smile slightly twisted. "You might see me as an outsider, but Justin sees me as his wife.”
''My wife?'' Justin''s eyes narrowed,
and his heart raced like a wild horse.
She threw the word out there so
casually. Be was well-read and educated, so surely she knew what it meant, right?
