?Chapter 1978
Under Be''s request, Arnold immediately tested the medication sent by Grant after returning.
Surprisingly, the medication turned out to be quite effective, with the only side effects being lethargy and drowsiness. It posed no significant harm to the body.
In the reception room, Be looked at the clear data on the test report, confused.
"What''s the name of this medicine?"
"I don''t know." Arnold shook his head.
Be was surprised to hear this.
"I don''t know its name, but the ingredients are almost identical to a drug developed a year ago by the RC Biotech Research Centre in Meridan for treating mental illness. However, that drug only had a series of announcements, and they have not officially released it yet. I''m not sure if this is the same one developed by RC."
Arnold sighed with relief. "Fortunately, this medication has no major issues. It''s also beneficial for Carrie''s condition. Otherwise, giving an unapproved drug to a patient would seem like experimenting on humans."
Just then, there was a leisurely knock at the door.
Be walked over and opened it. Upon seeing the person, her pupils contracted in surprise. "Mr. Grant?" Sitting in a wheelchair, Grant was alone at the door. His face showed a warm smile as he looked up at Be. "Ms. Thompson, I''ll be returning to Meridan soon. May I have a word with you in private?"
At the balcony at the end of the corridor, Be stood beside Grant. Her radiant face was bathed in the golden glow of the sunset. She looked like an untouchable goddess.
The man turned his refined face toward her, his gaze deep and intent.
"Mr. Grant, is there something you''d like to discuss with me?" Be deliberately avoided his gaze.
"I''ll be leaving for Meridan tonight," Grant''s tone was gentle and elegant.
"Have a safe trip back."
"Before I leave, I''d like to fulfill my promise to you."
Be felt puzzled. However, Grant opened his palm in front of her, revealing three pills identical to those Carrie had been taking.
"You..."
Before Be could react, the man had already swallowed the pills. He consumed them in one gulp. "I told you, I would take the medication with Carrie to assure you that there''s nothing wrong with the medicine I provide."
Be''s elegant brows were knit together. "I never said I didn''t trust you. You didn''t have to do that."
"I wanted to keep my promise to you." Grant''s voice was slightly hoarse. His eyes were a deep amber, ready to ensnare anyone who gazed into them too long. "Especially when it concerns Carrie''s health, I can''t afford to be careless. Don''t forget, I''m her eldest brother."
"Thank you for the medication. Carrie''s condition has improved a lot."N?velDrama.Org owns all ? content.
Be paused, her gaze probing as she looked at Grant. "Mr. Grant, did you get this medicine from the RC Biotech Research Centre in Meridan?"
"Yes," the man admitted readily.
