?Chapter 2386
"How is that even possible?!" Steven was visibly shaken; his eyes widened in disbelief. "Grant relies on a wheelchair to get around. He''s been taking medication for years and needs constant care. How could someone like that handle the responsibilities of a president?
"Besides, Justin has Old Master Nigel backing him, and his feud with Gregory has already been resolved. How could Grant overthrow him and take the position for himself? Does he even have the support? Are his legs up to it? Even if he makes it, he''ll just fall t on his face. Old Master Nigel would never stand by quietly!"
"But you have to realize there are only two heirs to the Salvador family: Grant and Justin," Be said, her eyes shut tight as she racked her brain, biting down on her lips so hard that it bled.
"If Justin falls-and worse, drags the entire Salvador family down with him-then no matter how much Grandpa Nigel loves him, he''ll have to consider the family''s future. Not to mention, after Grant''s return, Chairman Salvador''s stance shifted from favoring Justin to staying neutral. If pushes to shove, Grandpa Nigel might have no choice but to give up on Justin and let Grant take over."
Steven''s face turned deathly pale upon hearing this.
Be took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling sharply. "Of course, that''s the worst-case scenario. In Grandpa Nigel''s eyes, no amount of power or status outweighs the safety of his grandson. If the fight continues, who knows what deranged schemes Grant mighte up with? Grandpa Nigel has been guarding that bloody secret and bearing the pressure for years. He must be suffering."
"Ms. Be, we must figure out a way to help Justin through this crisis!" Steven leaned forward with worry etched across his face as he looked at the gloom-stricken Be.
"The Salvador Corporation... It''s the result of years of hard work by Justin. We can''t let it fall into the hands of someone with ulterior motives! Steve, no one wishes for Justin''s victory more than I do. If the righteous path won''t work, then I''ll take the dark one. No matter the means, I will protect Justin and the Salvador family."
After some deliberation, Be''s eyes opened once more, bloodshot and determined. "Ever since Arnold left, Grant nted rice by Justin''s side. The illegal drugs Justin has been taking were all given to her by Grant.
"He''s been watching from the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to act. Then he''ll contact reporters, call the police, andunch a seamless chain of attacks. It''s a well-executed n, leaving no room for error."
Steven cursed under his breath. "That bastard... He''s pure evil!"
"Steve, we need to send a top-tier, reliablewyer to handle this." Be''s mind was meticulous, her approach leaving no loose ends. "Right now, aside from Grandpa Nigel, I trust no one in the Salvador family. But Grandpa Nigel is old, and his strength is waning. Besides Matt, who knows if anyone around him has already been bought off by Grant?"
"Ms. Be, if you trust me, could we let my second brother, rence, take on Justin''s case?" Steven''s eyes burned with sincerity. "Back in the day, everyone in Savrow thought Hunter was the bestwyer. But they overlooked rence, who''s the real gem of the legal world. He''s been a judge for years and hasn''t argued cases, so people tend to underestimate him. But he''s formidable."
"I trust the Lovett brothers. Let''s go with your suggestion." Be took a deep breath. "The battle ahead will be tough. Justin has been detained, public opinion is in an uproar, and the media frenzy is relentless. Money isn''t the issue. The priority is to control the negative press."
Steven nodded firmly. "Understood! I''ll contact the PR and media departments immediately for emergency action."
In the interrogation room of Savrow''s police station, Justin sat under the piercingly bright white lights. Three hours had passed since he got here.
Yet his cold, chiseled face showed no signs of fatigue. His sharp suit was immacte-not a crease in sight. His
tall, lean frame remained straight andposed.
The saying "unmoved even as mountains crumble" found its perfect embodiment in this man.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the door to the interrogation room swung open.
Jack walked in with another officer, his expression frosty. He pped a test report onto the table in front of Justin, his gaze sharp and aggressive. "The results are out. Positive."
Justin''s dark eyes flickered slightly, his lips pressing into a thin line. "I have not taken drugs."
"You think this is fake? Are you implying our policeb is just for show?" Jack sneered. He pulled out a small stic bag and waved it in front of him. "Recognize this? It was found in your office drawer."Property belongs to N?vel(D)r/ama.Org.
Justin stared at the bag of blue pills, his gaze darkening. The veins on his hand bulged as his fingers curled into a fist.
That was thest bag. He had deliberately left it behind, knowing he was already dangerously dependent on it. He wanted to restrain himself, to stop using it.
In the past, skipping a dose would only give him a headache. Now, the withdrawal felt like ants crawling under his skin, biting and gnawing at his bones.
