Chapter 942

    Chapter 942

“What happened to that Grim Reaper-esque smile of yours? I remember the first time we met, you

didn’t even care about my colonel status.” Ster smiled surprisedly.

“I didn’t know you then. Isn’t it normal to treat strangers and close acquaintances differently? You’re not

putting on airs right now anyway,” Nash retorted with a smile.

“Hahaha… You’re right!” Sterughed heartily, seemingly in a good

    mood.

Philix looked at the people behind Nash and said, “Are these your

    friends?”

“Felicity Snyder of the Snyder family, at your service!”

Felicity took the initiative to introduce herself without waiting for

    Nash to do it.

She was going to introduce herself as Deputy Snyder of the

Inspection Office, but after giving it some thought, she figured that

would be better to introduce herself as a member of the Snyder

    family.

    “Melody Stone, at your service!”

“The Light guides. Jaxon, at your service!”

Melody and Jaxon bowed and curtsied.

“There’s no need for such formality!”

Philix waved his hands and smiled without the airs that a warden

    should have.

“Really? Can I call you Philix, then? Our names are so simr that you

almost feel like family to me!”

    Felicity said unrestrainedly.

Philix stared at her intently, which scared her. “I… I was just kidding…

    “Hahaha… You’re quite endearing, youngdy!”

    Philixughed heartily.

“I’ll take that as a yes, Philix!”

Felicity casually put her arm around his.

    Melody was taken aback.

    That was the North Warden.

How could she put her arm around his right after they met? If there was a sniper hidden somewhere,

they would probably have their finger on the trigger right now.

Philix did not mind. He looked up at the clock tower in the distance and said, “Come have a look at the

    clock tower with me!’

Felicity asked, “Philix, I heard that you alwayse to the clock tower in the town square when you’re

in Sagen. Does the clock tower hold any special meaning?”

She had always been a very inquisitive person, so she wanted to know the connection between the

clock tower and the mighty North

    Warden next to her.

Philix put his hands in the pockets of his windbreaker and said slowly,

    “I’ll tell you a storyter!”

While they were chatting away, they arrived at the clock tower once

    again.

Philix took his hands out of his pockets. He held half a pack of

cigarettes. He took one out, put it in his mouth, and lit it up.

His gaze gradually softened, and there was a hint of pain in his eyes.

His look alone caused a wave of sadness to wash over Nash and the

    others.

Philix stood quietly under the clock tower.

Nash and the others apanied him in silence.

Once Philix’s cigarette had burned out, Ster took the cigarette butt

from Philix’s hand and threw it into a nearby trash can.

Philix lifted his hand to touch the moss on the stone base of the

tower. When his hands got to a certain part, he used his nails to pick

    off the moss.

    “Philix, let me do it!”

    Felicity said.

    “No, it’s alright.”

    Philix shook his head.

After scraping away the moss, two letters appeared on the stone-W

    and R!

There was even a heart in between the two letters.

    “W and R!”

Felicity muttered the letters and asked curiously, “Philix, did you carve

    this?”

Philix smiled without saying anything, but his eyes were tearing up.

When Nash saw those two letters, a sonorous sound echoed in his

    mind.

    Those were his parents’ initials.

At the same time, Melody’s eyes widened too.
