Hera’s tone was chilling, her demeanor icy. It made Eugene feel as if he had been encased in ice.
“Sorry… I’m sorry…” Eugene’s head felt like it was about to explode. He could not think of anything
else to say other than an apology.
“That’s it? You’re sorry? That fire cost mypany three million! The food poisoning, six million! How
are we going to settle this ount?” Hera’s gaze was so cold it could almost freeze.
Yasmin moved a chair from the business van for Hera to sit on. Hera was pregnant, and standing too
long would numb her legs. Hera sat on the chair, her cold eyes continuing to stare at the sweating
Eugene. “I want ten times thepensation. That’s no problem, right?
“N–No problem!” Eugene nodded like a pecking chicken. Ten times thepensation was only 90
million. He and his father had saved up nearly 200 million over the years. They could afford it.
Hera’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. “Seeing you agree so easily, it seems that 90 million is not enough
to make you feel the pinch. Let’s make it a hundred times thepensation, then. I want nine billion!”
“No, no, no… It’s very much a pinch. Our savings only amount to about 200 million. We really can’t
come up with nine billion!” Eugene was almost crying at this point.
Hera demanded nine billion just because he had agreed too quickly. If he had deliberated, who knew if
she would have taken his legs instead? Clearly, she had the power to just rob him of anything and
everything.
Hera’s mouth twitched slightly. “So that means you refuse right?”
“Ms. Lewis, we can’te up with nine billion!” Eugene was practically crying now, minus the tears.
Olivia was a hundred times more terrifying than the devil.

Eva handed her own phone to Hera, speaking respectfully, “Ms. Lewis, the number of the major
shareholder of Hondur Pharmaceuticals headquarters in Sagen.”
After days of cooperation, the two of them worked together seamlessly. Hera was increasingly
impressed by Eva’s ability to get things done. She epted the phone and dialed the number.
Eugene closed his eyes, awaiting judgment. The call connected. A voice, aged and weathered, came
from the other end, “Who is this?”
Hera said gently, “This is Hera Lewis, chairwoman of Southern Heavens Pharmaceuticals in Jonford,”
There was a crash. It sounded as if a teacup had fallen on the other end. There was silence for a few
seconds before the aged voice asked, “Ms. Lewis, what can I do for you?”
“I wouldn’t dare to instruct you. However, your branch in Xanthalos has been going to extremes
recently to suppress mypany. There have been incidents of arson and poisoning, causing us
heavy losses,” Hera said with heartfelt regret.
“How much are you asking for?” Edward Hicks was no fool. He knew Hera was demanding
compensation. As the spokesperson for a second–rate family, he was well aware that Hera would
demand a lion’s share. Otherwise, she would not have called him herself.
“Nine billion!” Hera replied coldly.
Edward sneered coldly. “I know you have some influence in Jonford, but my position in Sagen is not
something you can afford to offend. If you insist on taking things too far, I wouldn’t mind making a
personal visit to Jonford myself.”
“Are you threatening me, Mr. Hicks?” Hera narrowed her eyes.
“You can interpret it that way if you wish.” Edward lit a cigar and took a puff.
Hera smiled faintly. “Alright, just you wait.”
After saying that, she hung up the phone without giving the other party a chance to respond.
Immediately afterward, she dialed another number on her phone. The call was answered almost
instantly.
Santiago Senior was pleasantly surprised and somewhat ttered. “Oh, my precious granddaughter is
calling me of her own ord?”
Hera sobbed. “Grandpa, someone from Sagen threatened me!”
Eugene’s expression darkened. Grandpa? Her grandfather was in Sagen? Who was her grandfather?
Santiago suddenly became furious. “Who dares bully my precious granddaughter?”
Hera choked up. “Edward Hicks! He threatened to bring people over to kill me!”
Just like that, the call ended. Even through the phone, everyone could feel the old man’s rage.
