Surprised at the sudden question, Rose asked, “Why are you asking about this now, Grandpa Zion?”
Yelzog and other Mystique Loyalty Realm martial artists were all looking at Nash.
Seeing their reactions, Rose also turned to have a quick look. She thought he looked quite
handsome and young, but that was all.
Rose presumed Nash was of no importance, given he did not have a bodyguard escorting him.
Yelzog said grimly, “Ten years ago, our family faced a string of misfortunes, and nothing seemed to go
our way. We were on the brink of destruction. It was then an immortal cultivator came to our
aid.
“I still don’t know how he did it, but he brought luck and prosperity, thereby transforming our family’s
fate. In just three years, our family became one of the top families. Anyway, the cultivator had a
disciple, none other than the man we’re observing.
“I remember kneeling before Tili Mountain for three days, pleading with the cultivator to allow his
disciple to take you as his bride, but he outright rejected my request!”
Giving Nash another scan from head to toe, Rose said with disdain, “Well, I’m d he rejected.
Otherwise, you’d be regretting it now! I mean, look at him! He doesn’t even have a bodyguard!”
Letting out a sigh, Yelzog said with an unreadable expression, “Don’t be so sure of yourself! He’s
that cultivator’s disciple, after all. I’m sure there’s more to this man than meets the eye!”
Rose shook her head in disagreement as she said, “I don’t think so. If he really is who you think
he is, I’m sure he won’t show up to this ceremony like this!”
Meanwhile, at the next table, Isadora found herself staring agape at what she overheard.
Yelzog had pleaded with someone to ask for their hand in marriage?! That man was none other
than Nash?
Isaac, who also overheard their conversation, initially frowned at Yelzog’s words butter
breathed out a sigh of relief.
Unlike some others, he had done some digging on Nash.
Isaac knew that Nash’s wife, Hera, had received tremendous support in her business and that she
was about to be the top businesswoman in Jonford in less than three months.
It had taken Isaac three years to get to where he was now.
Letting out a sigh, Isaac leaned toward Isadora and said while keeping his voice low, “Listen to
me, Dora. If Nash manages to survive whatever happens tonight, you must take him as your
husband, do you hear me? You must.
“I don’t care if he loves you or not, you must bear his child.”
Blushing slightly, Isadora looked at her father in bewilderment as she said, “Dad! What the hell?! He
already has two wives, yet you’re still asking me to marry him?”
Isaac kept his voice low as he continued, “Only if he manages to survive. Think about it. If he were to
wreak havoc tonight and still survive, he’d no doubt be treated with reverence by all.
“As such, manydies are sure to swoon over him, and many fathers would start arranging for
their hands in marriage! You mustn’t be left behind!”
Isadora’s brows were pulled into a frown as she said, “Our family’s martial arts cultivation level is one of
the highest in the city, and the same goes for our influence in the business sector. We don’t need help
from anybody. We’re already doing great on our own!”
In Isadora’s opinion, Nash was indeed great in many ways, so it was not surprising manydies wanted
to marry him. It was the idea of polygamy that Isadora could not ept.
She was to be the Lady of Henley one day. Would the Lady of Henley ept being someone else’s
mistress?
Of course not!

Isaac stared at Isadora in frustration and said, “Urgh, you foolish girl! You’re so shallow–minded!
Companies rise and fall, it’s inevitable! A person, however, has unlimited potential–especially someone
like Nash Calcraft! He’s like a gold mine that never runs dry!”
Isadora rolled her eyes at her father and said, “Why do I have the feeling that you simply want me out
of the picture so that you can have more time for yourself? It seems to me you’re eager to find yourself
a new wife!”
Isadora’s father had many women, but until now, she was still a single child. She wondered if the
women were simply not good enough for her father or if it was the other way round.
Isaac scoffed. “If that was the case, I’d have found one long ago. Why would I wait until now?”
A hint of realization shed across Isadora’s face as she asked in a whisper, “You know, Nash is also a
famous doctor. Perhaps he could help you?”
Isaac nearly jumped up from his seat as he said angrily, “You listen to me, Isadora Sloan! I’ve only
loved your mother, and she’s the only woman I’ll ever love for the rest of my life. And to address your
concern, I had a vasectomy right after you were born!”
Isadora’s eyes glistened with tears upon hearing what her father said.
Her parents were childhood sweethearts.
They attended the same kindergarten and had been together until university. They even co- founded a
business together after graduating.

On the day Isadora was born, her mother went through a difficultbor. The doctor said her
mother’s life was in jeopardy, and they were presented with a dire choice–only one could survive,
either the child or the mother.
Isaac had decided to save Isadora’s mother, but she had adamantly refused, insisting on saving her
child instead.
Although Isaac disagreed with her decision, he ultimately had no choice but topromise.
