Chapter 1979

    "Here, careful."

    "It''s okay, I''m fine."

"That won''t do! You must be extremely careful!"

    Hera grinned widely.

"Haha, what''s the matter? It''s alright. We''ve only just finished dinner, and you''re already bustling about. You should get some rest too."

Nash shook his head and leaned toward Hera, hugging her as he said gently, "I just want to spend more time with you."

"Oh? What''s the matter with you today? Why are you being so clingy?" Hera asked teasingly, a bright smile on her face. "Why? You don''t want me to be clingy? I''ll leave, then," Nash said as he pretended to get up.

"Gosh, alright, alright. You can cling to me."

The two spent their time talking to each other about everything and anything.

"Hera." Nash''s tone of voice suddenly changed.

    "Huh? What''s wrong?"

"We''ll always be together, won''t we?"

"Of course. We''ll always be with each other, until the end. Forever and ever and ever and ever."

"I don''t think you need to say that many evers," Nashined.

"Why? Don''t you want that?" Hera asked, pursing her lips.

"Of course, I do. Of course, I do!"

    "Tsk, how fake."

    "How is that fake?"

"You just are. Also, have you been doing nothing except training in solitude the past few days?" Hera asked abruptly.

    "Yes, nothing else."

"Nonsense. If that''s the case, why didn''t I see you when I brought you lunch the past two days?"

"Oh, well..." Nash was stumped for an answer. He actually did not want his family to know he was rubbing shoulders with immortal cultivators. It was something he had insisted upon all this while. The same applied to what was happening now. He would be attending the Summit of Ten Thousand Dynasties in a couple of days and wanted to spend the time before that with his family.

No matter what, he was always

thinking about them. He had begun to worry about what would happen to Hera, and the others in the event of his Sudden death while battling a god. He was also worried about what would happen if the gods'' awakening was not halted.

Hera abruptly nted a kiss on Nash''s cheek and pulled him out of his reverie. "Hera?"

    Hera shook her head.

"It doesn''t matter. None of this is important, I won''t ask too much about your life. I''m just worried that you aren''t eating or getting enough rest. I''m also worried that you''ll get hurt or fall ill.

"I know how hard you work, so it''s alright. What matters is that you''re still by my side. Everything will be alright as long as you''re with me.

"You''ve had a gloomy expression on

    your face throughout the holiday

season, and though I don''t know what''s going on, I have confidence in my husband. Nothing is evera problem when you''re here.

    Nash hugged Hera.

"Your presence is why nothing is ever a problem, Hera. I love you."

The two smiled as they continued their conversation. Things were just like how they always had been and always would be.

The sound of drum rolls reverberated through the sky.

Atop the clouds was an arena designed to look like a chessboard.

Nash, Clint, and the others arrived.

The arena was massive and seemed to have split the sky into two halves. Hundreds of thousands of martial artists and cultivators were here.

In the middle of the arena was an elder dressed in golden robes. He made an announcement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Summit of Ten Thousand Dynasties has officially begun!"
