"Sven!" Marie shouted anxiously.
A look of determination crossed Sven''s eyes. A slight smile appeared on his lips as he single-handedly shattered the trident that had pierced through him.
Seeing their weapon destroyed, the person behind him quickly retreated into the ground.
Not wanting to waste time, Sven helped Marie up and urgently led her away.
In the sky above, besides the angels were demons with wings and horns attacking as well. Theyunched fierce assaults on the array where Val was positioned. Chester waved his hand, releasing a group of small spheres that quickly expanded into several floating cannons.
A demonnded on the dragon''s back. Chester directed a floating cannon to st the demon into pieces.
Seeing this, the other demons dared not approach and could only throw fireballs from a distance as they feared Chester''s floating cannons. However, four floating cannons connected to form a light shield that blocked the fireballs. Just as Chester felt a moment of relief, he suddenly sensed a powerful force approaching them.
"Torah! Tail whip!"
Torah responded with a sharp turn, coordinating with Chester''s light shield. They narrowly avoided the powerful energy st.
"That guy..." Chester nervously looked up at the sky.
A man in a suit with a pale face, red eyes, sharp fangs, and a frail appearance flew toward them.
"That force was your doing, wasn''t it, Count Darknis?"
"Kid, if you don''t want to die, get lost!" The count pped his enormous wings and flew toward the group.
"Torah! Speed up! We''ve encountered a dangerous foe!"
Torah pped his wings frantically, but the count stayed close behind, nearly catching up.
"Faster, Torah!"
"I''m flying as fast as I can!"
Nheless, Darknis remained close, almost within reach.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. Even
at such high speeds, the count was
hit. The bullet pierced through his
head as if the shooter had been waiting for this moment.
"It seems he''s unable to regenerate. Is it silver?"
Chester breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his face before taking out a walkie-talkie.
"Thanks, Cormick. Is your team ready?"
"Of course. How''s Val doing?" replied Cormick, putting away his sniper rifle.
"Almost there! Get ready to start your operation."
"Roger! The personnel have been evacuated. The first unit is moving toward the pce."
With Cormick''smand, a group of mercenaries advanced toward the pce. With their numbers, they resembled a ck tide sweeping forward.
Ston
Sven and Marie had already entered the pce, where an eerie silence prevailed. It was as if no one was there.
At the back of the pce, an old
man in papal robes stood with a bloodied knife in his hand. On the
U¢
ground, lying in a pool of blood, was the empress.
"Wee, changers of fate," the pope said, waving the dagger toward them.
"What have you done?!" Sven yelled angrily at the pope. "Nothing much. I''ve just decided it''s time to end all of this."
With a boom, the pce erupted with a powerful energy.
Members of the Illuminion, who had been lying in wait, sprang into action and sealed off the pcepletely.
