Hearing Sophie''s words, Angelo panicked and bolted upstairs, yelling, "Sandy! You little troublemaker! If you dare make that call, you''re finished!"
Watching themotion, Sophie finally set down her knife and fork. She had been worried that Kiran was just pretending, but now she was sure the person in front of her wasn''t Kiran. Angelo, with his goofy demeanor, seemed easy to deceive and wasn''t the type to hatch any sinister plots. That was a relief.

A notification chimed on her phone. Sophie nced down and opened the text, which was an invitation to meet at the airport in an hour. Despite the briefness, she recognized it was from Elodie.
Upstairs, Odie stormed out, clearly agitated, and shouted down at Sophie, "Sophie! Can''t you control your people? Stop shouting in my house!"
Sophie looked up to see Odie''s tired expression. He had likely spent the entire day sorting through Summerfield Corporation''s business information. "I''m so sorry, Mr. Odie. I promise it won''t happen again."
No sooner had she spoken than Angelo started yelling at Sandy again, "You little troublemaker! I''ll smash your phone!"
This was followed by a burst of scuffling noises.
Odie''s face darkened, clearly at his limit. He regretted letting Sandy and Angelo stay on a whim! Now, just one day in, they had already caused so much trouble.
"Mr. Odie, I''m heading out. Please remember to send dinner up to Colby."
After speaking, Sophie pocketed her phone and walked towards the door. Then, turning back with concern, she said, "I''ll give you a thousand dors to borrow two of your men." "What?"
Before Odie could react, Sophie added, "Right, Mr. Odie doesn''t need the money. I''ll just take the men with me!"
With that, Sophie stepped outside,
casually signaling to two of the

two enforcers looked at each other,
unsure whether to go or not.

The car quickly arrived outside Summerfield Airport. Elodie was on time, disembarking from her ne and joining Sophie in a nearby pub. Elodie was cautious, bringing two bodyguards, each a muscr man. Sophie said, "Ms. Elodie, you''re just meeting me. No need to be so cautious, right?"
"Likewise, Ms. Sophie. You brought people too. It shows we both don''t fully trust each other."
Elodie handed over the share transfer agreement from Burke International to Sophie, saying, "Here, tell your man to stop using the Reeves family to threaten me."
Sophie nced at the share
agreement in her hand, finding no loopholes or traps. Elodie continued, "But don''t get too pleased. Although Burke International is now in your hands, it might not be a good thing."
There was a chill in Elodie''s tone. Sophie couldn''t help but think of something Angelo had once said. He mentioned that holding these shares might put her in danger. Where did those wordse from? "Ms. Elodie, are you saying that having these Burke International shares could be dangerous for me?"
"I''ve said my piece. Since you
wanted these shares so badly, take
them. But don''t say I didn''t warn
you. Being in control of Burke
International won''t be easy, and you
might not win everyone over.
