Instead, it was hidden, and not just anywhere, but in each family''s ancestral hall. I bet the Tredgold and Costello families have simr ledgers. Maybe when you put them together, they form a treasure map." Jenna and Adler exchanged bewildered nces.


    Jenna said, "I''ve heard of treasure maps hidden in poems and paintings, but this is the first time I''ve heard of one hidden in a ledger!"


    "Sophie, your imagination is wild," Adler remarked. "If this turns out to be true, it would be absolutely crazy! What kind of treasure would be hidden in a ledger?"


    Sophie shook her head, saying, "Mr. Adler, I need you to go back to the Tredgold estate and see if you can find anything in the ancestral hall."

    Adler felt everyone''s eyes on him. He swallowed hard and protested, "No way! I''ve never liked going into ancestral halls. Either the ancestors will be displeased, or my dad will beat me.
