"I suppose that''s the way it should be."
Sophie turned to Adler and said, "I also owe Mr. Adler thanks for the reminder."
"Don''t mention it, I''m naturally clever!"
"Getting all puffed up from a couple ofpliments!"
Jenna pped Adler yfully on the arm and then said to Sophie, "In that case, we''ll arrange for some people to set up defenses on the outskirts of the valley."
"Since everyone got ay of thendst time, I assume we all have some understanding of this valley. Here''s a map of the terrain. In the short term, everyone needs to memorize the basicyout of this valley just in case."
Theyout of the valley was roughly charted by Colby during hisst visit. Although notprehensive, it was a rtively safe route.
Harold spoke up, "I''ll arrange for some people to be stationed inside the valley to familiarize themselves with the terrain as quickly as possible, so they can provide assistance from both inside and outside in case of any emergency."
At this point, Harold paused for a moment, his expression tinged with worry, "But we only know one route. If we don''t know the fullyout of the valley, it''s still very dangerous."

Suddenly, Elodie''s voice came from outside the door.
Everyone turned towards the entrance to see Elodie and Griffin walking in.
Moreover, Elodie was holding a roll of paper in her hands.
"How did you get here?"
Sophie was slightly surprised.
Elodie had been busy with her businesses in Devonport, but despite her hectic schedule, she hade to offer her help.
"This has be a major issue. If The Silent Shadows really take over Devonport, I fear I won''t be able to do business here anymore."
Having seen Joseph''s madness before, Elodie knew The Silent Shadows were not to be trifled with.
She unrolled the map and pinned it to the ckboard, saying, "This is thetest map of the valley''s terrain I''ve acquired. Thought it might be useful to you, so I brought it over."

"How did youe by a map of the valley''s terrain? And how did you know we needed it?"
Adler looked at Elodie with a puzzled expression.
They had only just deduced The Silent Shadows'' base was in the valley, so Elodie having such a map was indeed surprising.
"An old friend of yours gave it to me."
Saying so, Elodie''s gaze fell on Sophie.
Everyone also looked towards Sophie and Colby.
Though it was just a look, they all knew the old friend Elodie mentioned was James.
Adler scratched his head, puzzled.
How did Jamese by this map?
Sophie''s eyes darkened.
"No matter where this map came from, as long as it''s authentic, we can greatly minimize our risks."
Sophie stepped forward and examined the map of the valley''s interior. The path marked on itrgely matched the one Colby had remembered.
It seemed to be genuine.
"You''re not nning to confront The Silent Shadows, are you?"
Although Elodie hadn''t been in touch
with them recently, from the
snippets of conversation, she had
pretty much figured out their intentions.
Elodie crossed her arms and said, "You better think this through. The Silent Shadows aren''t ordinary foes. Joseph might be a lone wolf, but The Silent Shadows are much more profound. If they decide to take serious action against you, doubt you''d stand a chance."
