Chapter 443

Everett assumed today would be just another ordinary day. But he found himself unable to shut his eyes, staring intently at her as if to reassure himself that she was truly there, within arm''s reach. Despite the reassurance, a sense of unease lingered, like a shadow that refused to fade.

He pulled her, along with the nkets, closer into his embrace. His grip tightened, seeking a closeness that seemed just out of grasp. Pressed against her, he slowly imed her, and atst, the turmoil in his heart subsided. Their bodies fit together perfectly, allowing him to feel her warmth and presence with rity.

This feeling was hard for Everett to put into words. It was an emotion he had never felt before-a mix of danger and unpredictability that he would usually steer clear of. After all, a wise man knows to seek benefits and avoid risks. Yet, it was like sweet nectar, drawing him in irresistibly, making him lose control, hopelessly caught in its grasp. Even knowing it might be folly, he couldn''t help but pursue it.

Selena awoke from her restless dreams to find him above her, her mind clouded with confusion until she recognized him. Her voice was hoarse when she tried to speak, the dryness in her throat taking the edge off her irritation. Everett, however, gave her little time to ponder. He knew her body too well, knew exactly how to please her...

In a haze, she slipped in and out of consciousness, lost in the fog of their passion. Afterwards, theyy there, both drenched in sweat. Gently, Everett pushed her hair from her face, revealing her smooth forehead. Her cheeks, still flushed, resembled blooming pink roses- stunningly beautiful.

A satisfied smile tugged at his lips. He carried her to the bathroom for a warm bath, then tenderly back to bed, wrapping her snugly in the nkets. Once she woke, they could set off on their journey.

He bent down to pick it up. It was a nearly finished sweater in a light grey hue. Everett remembered that Selena could knit. Early in their marriage, she had made him a sweater, though he had never worn it, and he hadn''t seen her knit anything since. Was she trying to win him over with her old tricks?

But the size was wrong. It wasn''t meant for an adult man-more like something for a child. Why was Selena knitting a child''s sweater? Fit was for a child they were expecting, wasn''t it too soon? Plus, she had always dreamed of a little girl, and

Everett''s dark eyes narrowed as he looked at the sleeping woman on the bed. Could she be keeping something from him?
