Chapter 624

    ?

Alice gave a shy smile and sat down in the seat Chris had just vacated. Emmett, holding a te of freshly cut fruit, sat beside her. Seeing Alice''s eager expression, he smiled gently and said, "This is poker. You can bet any amount you want."

Alice, not sure if she fully understood, nodded obediently. “Gott, Emmett. This is poker. I know how to y," she said.

Hearing that, none of the others took it seriously. Alice was an adult; it wouldn''t be surprising if she had seen poker before. But as for her im of knowing how to y? That wasn''t particrly credible.

Frankie nced mischievously at Emmett, who was sitting next to Alice. He said, "Hey, if Alice ys, you can''t give her any tips. Otherwise, it wouldn''t be fun."

Frankie''s intention of messing with Emmett was evident.

Emmett raised an eyebrow, nced at him, and said in a deep voice, "All right, Alice will y by herself."

After Emmett said that, he pulled a check from his pocket, wrote 3.3 million dors on it, and ced it on the table.

Frankie, Sienna, and Bruce nced at the figure on the check. Emmett was truly spending a fortune for the sake of a girl. The problem was that this 3.3 million dors was bound to be lost. It was clearly nothing but an attempt to make Alice happy.

Alice didn''t understand why the other yers at the poker table were so excited.

An hourter, Alice looked at her cards, sniffled, and then nced again at the joker card in her hand. After some thought, she called. The other three yers'' gazes locked onto her.

The moment she called, Frankie eagerly revealed his cards, shouting, "Four of a Kind. I finally won!"

Sienna and Bruce exchanged nces. They looked at their chips, which had dwindled from an initial 1 million dors each to abined total of only 30 thousand dors. That barely covered Frankie''s winning hand, leaving thempletely cleaned out.

Frankie gathered their chips and counted his remaining ones, which totaled only 150 thousand dors. All three then looked in unison at the thick stack of chips in front of Alice, their mouths twitching.

In the past hour, over three rounds, Alice had won at least two-thirds of the games. Moreover, every win of hers was at least a "Four of a kind" victory. Frankie had never imagined that the match would end with Alice as the ultimate winner.N?velDrama.Org copyrighted ? content.

He thought, "This was yet another unbelievable day!''

Emmett had been gazing at Alice indulgently from start to finish Feeding her fruit, he said little, showing no surprise at her poker skills. From the first game, he realized that Alice could y.

''Who else but Yvette could have trained someone with the mind of a six-year-old child to y poker this well?'' he thought.

Frankie recounted his chips again, sighing over his losses. First, he failed to recover 660 thousand dors, and then he lost another 1 million dors to Alice-a massive setback.

Frankie suddenly stared at Alice and muttered, "I have reason to suspect you''re a wolf in sheep''s clothing, Alice."

Alice blinked, clearly puzzled. Frankie''s words were beyond her understanding. In a soft, childish voice, she said, "You''re so silly. A wolf can''t be in a sheep''s clothing. Yvette told me to stay away from dummies."

Her tone was filled with disdain, and the others burst intoughter. Sienna nodded. "You''re right; you really should stay away from dummies"

Frankie finally understood what it felt like to be unanimously despised. He asked again, "Alice, how do you know how to y poker?"

Alice replied, "Yvette taught me. She said ying poker helps develop the brain and makes you smarter. I..." She paused, counted carefully on her ten fingers, and continued, "I learned it ten years ago! I can also y other games, too. I know a lot!"

Bruce and the others had guessed Yvette had taught Alice poker, but they didn''t expect such aprehensive education that included other gambling games.

Alice, unaware of her winnings, pushed all her chips toward Emmett. "Here, Emmett. Can these buy lots of snacks?" she asked.

Frankie snorted, his tone dripping with jealousy. "Alice, you''ve won enough to buy a mansion here.”

Alice seemed to understand the word "mansion." She tilted her head. "Emmett, you can use it to buy a mansion and marry lots of wives!" she said. The room fell into stunned silence. Everyone''s expressions were priceless. Who told Alice that one could marry multiple wives?'' they wondered. Emmett''s face froze, and his body stiffened instantly. ''What does she mean by ''marry lots of wives?'' he thought.

Frankie, delighted by the chaos, asked, "Alice, Emmett only wants to marry one wife."

Alice looked at Emmett with innocent eyes, her expression saying, ‘Only one? That''s so little!'' Emmett grew even more rigid.

As they chatted, Jeremiah and Yvette entered the room. Upon seeing Yvette, Alice immediately grabbed the check in Emmett''s hand and ran toward her.

    Emmett was speechless.

Alice ran up to Yvette, presenting the check like a treasure. "Yvette, this is what I won. You can use it to marry a handsome husband!" she said. Jeremiah stood beside Yvette, his cold and imposing figure exuding an unapproachable aura. When he heard Alice''s words, his expression remained nk, but his gaze grew darker.

Emmett stepped forward, pulling Alice behind him. Facing Jeremiah''s frosty demeanor, Emmett said, “Jeremiah, she''s just a child. She didn''t mean anything by it."

Alice peeked out from behind Emmett and loudly asked, "Yvette, don''t you want to marry one? Or do you want to marry lots of people?"

Sienna''s mouth twitched. She thought, ''Alice''s innocent bluntness has hit Jeremiah''s sore spot repeatedly. If anyone else had said such things, they''d probably be long gone by now.

Yvette squinted slightly, her delicate features radiating calm coolness. Looking at the adorable and naive Alice peeking out, she smirked, her expression tinged with mischief. ncing sideways at Jeremiah, she saidzily, "One is enough. Quality over quantity."

Alice nodded in a daze. She looked at Jeremiah, pointed at him, and tilted her head, asking, "Yvette, do you want to marry him?"

Her question was so sincere that the others perked up their ears. This was the kind of drama only Alice dared to create. Everyone''s gazended on Yvette. She slowly raised her eyes, her expression serene. After a long pause, she answered nonchntly, "Maybe."

Jeremiah''s hands clenched tightly, and the room''s atmosphere instantly turned oppressive. Everyone else froze.

Yvette''s ambiguous "maybe" threw the room into chaos. If she didn''t give an exnation, Jeremiah might just lose his mind.

No one could guess why Yvette would say that. They were uncertain if a crisis was brewing in her rtionship with Jeremiah after just a few hours.
