Chapter 143 - 140: Let’s Go Watch a Movie!

    Chapter 143: Chapter 140: Let’s Go Watch a Movie!

[For some reason, listening to this fills my eyes with tears ofughter]

    [You1 re not alone!]

    [You’re not human!]

[Unidentified creature mingling among them (funny)]

[Life is hard, cherish it as you go]

    [I’m actually touched]

    [This is life!]

Countless people voiced their emotions, but Bi Fang just wanted to hurry into what looked more like a slightlyrger vige than a small town.

Before he could get close, however, a loud shout startled everyone.

“Stop right there, who are you! What are you doing here?

Bi Fang turned his head to see a burly man with a white turban staring at him warily, and what was more exaggerated was that he was actually holding a short stick in his hand!

Faced with the stranger, the burly man was quite tense.

This ce was usually deserted, but there stood a young man, ragged and covered in dust, solitary on a camel without even a bridle, skulking around the entrance of the vige, looking far from normal.

The burly man wondered if the young man was some kind of fugitive murderer.

He watched the young man’s eyes, so calm, yet seeming to hide a tiger ready to pounce.

He had only seen such eyes once before, on a wolf he encountered in the desert.

That time, the wolf had killed three of his sheep.

Seeing the burly man acting like he was guarding against a thief, thements section was in stitches.

[They’re treating Old Fang like a thief, hahaha]

[I have to say, he does look a bit like one, Old Fang’s image isn’t very convincing right now.]

[Old Fang, better exin quickly, I feel like the person in front of you is about

    to charge over]

    [Interesting, really interesting]

Bi Fang, seeing thismotion, was not in the least bit hurried.

Having sessfully sought refuge, his mindpletely rxed, and seeing the man’s wariness, he wanted to approach and exin, not expecting the burly man to retreat two steps, nearly dropping his stick.

    Bi Fang had to stop.

The burly man who showed cowardice was quite irritated.

    What was there to fear?

The person opposite was clearly just a young man.

He waved the short stick in his hand, threatening with feigned bravery, “Don’te any closer! If youe any closer, I won’t be polite!”

Bi Fang was speechless, “I’m not a bad person, nor a thief, just someone in trouble who has just escaped from the desert!”

The burly man furrowed his brows, staring at Bi Fang, and repeated, “Someone in trouble?”

“Yes, I’m not a bad person.” Bi Fang raised his hands to show he meant no harm.

The burly man peered carefully in the moonlight, seeing the young man’s pitiable state, partly believed him, but still didn’t let down his guard, “Then, do you have anything to prove your identity?”

Bi Fang was stumped; he didn’t have anything like that. Who would bring their ID card on a survival trip, and what if it got lost?

The burly man, seeing no response from the other side, guessed the answer. . Noticing the genuine down-and-out appearance of the stranger, he still didn’t feel at ease letting him stay alone there, and hesitated a bit.

“Well then, follow me into the vige, remember not to run out of my sight, and don’t wander off! Stay not too close!”

    “Okay!”

Bi Fang agreed and walked in front of the burly man.

As they entered the vige, others noticed Bi Fang. Seeing the burly man behind him, their eyes brightened and they approached to whisper to the burly man.

Furthermore, more and more people began to follow behind Bi Fang, until about a dozen of them neatly stopped after fifteen minutes, clearing a path.

An elder came out surrounded by the vigers, speaking in not very standard Mandarin,

“Young man, I am the vige chief here. You say you’re a person in distress?

Can you tell me about it?”

“Of course.” Bi Fang nodded and repeated his earlier story.

    “Where are you from?”

    “Magic Capital.”

“Oh, that’s quite far away. And this camel is…?”

“1 luckily stumbled upon it in the desert.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the dozen people behind the elder began to whisper among themselves.

“You stumbled upon it…” The elder pondered for a while. He was judging the truthfulness of the statement when unexpectedly, he saw the bloodstains on Bi Fang’s hand and asked, “You’re injured?”

    “Yes.”

Bi Fang didn’t mention the injury was from a strange fish’s bite. If he said that, these people would surely be in an uproar.

Who would believe someone got bitten by a fish in the desert?

    Would you believe it?

“Then let’s treat the injury first,” the elder decided on the spot, regardless of whether the young man was truly in distress or not. They should see to his wounds at the clinic first to avoid any dy.

They had more than a dozen people there, and the stranger had nothing on him. What could he do if he really was a fugitive?

Bi Fang followed the elder to the clinic, handing over the camel to him, which had been nuzzling his back ever since arriving in the vige.

After seeing the human settlement, it was very excited.

“Can you feed my camel some grass?”

    “Sure!” the old man promised.

“Um, there’s another thing that might prove my identity.”

Bi Fang took down the drone, fiddled with it for a bit, and the vigers were surprised. It was too dark earlier and they hadn’t noticed such a gadget flying over their heads.

“Spy!” The burly man had a very high sense of alertness and thought of the TV dramas he had seen when he saw the gadget.

Bi Fangughed, ced the drone on a nearby stone, aimed, and projected it onto a wall in front of the clinic.

The images were of his survival experience.

The live broadcast device provided by the System made this a breeze.

    “Huh? A movie?”

“It seems so, what’s this thing called, proj…”

    “Projector!”

    “Right, that thing!”

A group of people’s voices grew louder, asionally mixed with dialects that others couldn’t understand, all of them amazed.

Meanwhile, Bi Fang went into the clinic, leaving a group of people outside watching his live broadcast.

[Hahaha, these people haven’t seen much!]

[Damn, fooled by Master Fang again.]

[I’m reminded of the driver uncle Old Fang first met when he was surviving for the first time; I can’t say they’re simr, they’re exactly the same! Hahaha]

[Those people at the door are stunned.]

[The edited version is even cooler! ]

[This drone is so awesome, projecting and recording at the same time]

Inside the clinic, there was only one female doctor on duty who looked to be in her forties, possibly aged due to the constant blowing of wind and sand.

She just cut open the dressing cloth on Bi Fang’s wound and was immediately taken aback: “What kind of wound is this?”

It was obviously a bite from something!

    Desert Wolf?

No, that can’t be; wolves don’t have such big mouths, do they?

And doesn’t this guy feel pain?

With such a serious injury, a normal person wouldn’t even be able to lift their arm, but this young man seemed totally unaffected?

The doctor stared at the wound and was stunned, her mind struggling toprehend.

After such a serious injury, had he really ridden a camel out of the desert?

Seeing the doctor’s expression, Bi Fangughed, “Doctor, would you believe me if I said it was a fish bite?”

“I don’t believe it, but you’d better tell me honestly what bit you so I can give you the right treatment.”

“It really was a fish, and just a simple treatment will do,” Bi Fang said sincerely.

Seeing that he wouldn’t say, the female doctor shook her head and began to examine the wound.

From the first-person perspective, the pus-filled wound was shockingly graphic.

    [Damn, is it infected?]

[What now? They won’t have to amputate, will they?]

[It’s over, is Old Fang done for?]

“In the city, even small wounds often get infected, let alone in the wild, not to mention I was in water. But, there are many kinds of infections, not all of them fatal.”

The doctor nced at Bi Fang, thinking he was talking about his experience, not too concerned, “No worries, it’s probably just a simple infection. I’ll treat it here, but afterwards, you should still go to a bigger hospital for a further check-up and get a few shots, just to prevent other bacteria infections.”

    “Okay, thank you, doctor.”

Nodding her head, the female doctor turned to get some ointment, but just as she returned, a hugemotion came from the entrance, even showing signs of escting.

The female doctor couldn’t contain her curiosity and went to the door, only to discover that almost everyone from the vige hade, pointing and discussing the light and shadows in front of them.

“Lebao, what are you guys huddled here for? Aren’t you going to school tomorrow?” the female doctor stepped forward and grabbed a little boy, asking curiously.

“We’re watching a movie!” Lebao, sucking on a lollipop, was excitedly pointing at the wall, “It’s so good, Auntie,e and watch with us?”

“A movie? Where did a moviee from? I didn’t hear about anyone showing movies in town?”

The female doctor looked up and when she saw the “protagonist” on the screen, her brain froze.

in the screen, it just happened to show Bi Fang confronting a monstrous fish in the darkness.

All the vigers present held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

    Apanied by a thunderous roar.

    Thunk.

The walking stick and the monstrous fish hit the ground at the same time.

The vige chief staggered and took two steps back.

    “This young man…”

    “He’s risking his life!”
