End of the match


    Gaia unleashed a volley of child sized rocks at the ziken since despite finishing her prep for her movest she didn''t need to close the distance to use it unlike with the double kick the ziken was going for. The fire type was well trained however and without skipping a beat used the boulders as footholds to reach Gaia''s face. "CRACK!" both feet smashed into Gaia''s snout knocking a fang loose and cracking her carapace. I winced at that since while it wasn''t a serious injury and the tooth would regrow in about a week it meant she couldn''t eat any minerals or hard foods during that time.-


    "RAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Gaia roared in rage and I could have sworn she got bigger as a white glow started to gather in her chest and make it''s way up her throat. ''Oh shit that hyper beam!'' I thought in panic a split second before the arena turned blindingly bright. The ziken hadn''t had any time to regain distance from my girl before she unleashed her most powerful move on it at point nk range. "ziken is unable to battle! Winner Alexander Drake!" the ref called and I immediately recalled Gaia before she could do anything that we would both regretter.-


    Not that I could see mind you since she had pretty much sh banged me and at best everything was blurry at the moment. My vision was returning to normal quickly but that didn''t really matter since the match was over. I certainly wasn''t alone in my blindness though as quite a few members of the audience were holding their eyelids when I finally got my normal vision back. No body wasining or anything like that as the risk of something like this happening was a well known one.-


    Moves had the potential to cause temporary blindness and deafness at high levels so if anything we were the stupid ones for not getting protection against those scenarios. For trainers it was a set of special contacts that turn dark momentarily if there was too much lighting at ones eyes and as for the whole deafness issue there simply wasn''t any reasonable method to prevent it. Using earmuffs or plugs stopped all sound from reaching your ears which was more detrimental than anything and there were no selective canceling type tech for the ears.-


    The league had been working on such things but they had little luck due to how sensitive the human ear was causing the prototypes to basically turn noise canceling the moment someone even shouted or a pokemon roared. I had ideas about how to use those same prototypes more effectively but was unwilling to share that information at the moment. This world was clearly in the era of criminal organizations and the idea would only make them more efficient if I implemented it on a wide scale. See themunication technology was weirdly behindpared to earth as besides video conferences(which needed a high techputer by the way) the usual methods were quiet and hard to hear.-


    My idea was basically to create a sort of headset that cancels outside sound around the ear but allows the person wearing it to hear the person they were talking to clearly. It wasn''t revolutionary or anything as it just added a bit to the existing technology but it would makemunication way more efficient for everyone which unfortunately included the criminal organizations. Anyways nnery had recalled her pokemon as well though judging from the expressions of the Joys taking her pokemon it was seriously injured.-


    "I have to apologize for Gaia''s hyper beam. She was probably too consumed by her anger to realize how dangerous it was." I said honestly as I walked up to nnery. She shook her head "There was always a chance of something like this happening but what bothers me is I can''t think of a reason why she would have gotten so angry. The attack probably hurt but it should have been that bad right?" She asked confused. I chuckled "No it wasn''t the pain that made her angry , she''s dealt with worse before. Then problem came in when one of her teeth got knocked out."-


    "The girls a foodie through and through and she can''t eat any hard things or minerals until that tooth regrows. That one attack basically denied her her favorite part of the day for the next week or so and she knew it." I exined with a smirk. nneryughed uproariously when she heard my exnation. "Ha~ I can''t believe that such a powerful attack came from what amounts to a temper tantrum." she said with a smile after she got control of herself again.-


    "Pokemon have their own personalities and quirks so obviously they have things that will set them off. In this case Gaia went off because someone took away her ability to eat minerals for about a week. For Vulcan though it''s if you harm a child , big soft spot for the little ones it has you see." I said honestly. "Really?" She asked astonished. "I know right? You''d think the prideful thing would be terrible with something as bothersome as children but no Vulcans a total pushover when ites to children. Rescued some Eevee kits a while back from a traffickers shipwreck and Vulcan looked about ready to kill the rangers we called for help to protect them." I said casually.-


    "Oh yeah , I read about that whole incident in your file but didn''t think anything of it at the time. Still I have trouble imagining that pokemon in particr as gentle in any regard." nnery said honestly. "Can''t say as I me you really. My newest addition that you fought earlier , Hades , is a troublesome little brat though. It''s clever as hell and absolutely loves to jump scare people. Like most of it''s species Hades also has a vindictive streak a mile wide. Despite this though it is very attached to the baby Feebas I have." I said honestly.-


    "I can''t say I expected you to pull out a legion Spiritomb of all things during this match. In fact I was actually counting on either your Charmeleon or Grovyle to win." nnery said with a little bit of helplessness. I shook my head "Both of them aren''t at the elite level yet , in terms of pure skill they are about tied with Vulcan and Gaia if a bit behind but their actual power is still only at the ace level. I estimate they will evolve thest time either right before or right after they reach elite level in power." I said honestly.-


    "I see , out of curiosity can you tell me why your Spiritomb seemed so i suppose inexperienced would be the word?" nnery asked curiously. "Hades was born from the many lives lost at teport recently. I came across it shortly after it had been born and captured it. The reason it seems so unskilled is because it simply is. I have only been training it for about a week now so beside raw power Hades simply isn''t even close to the same level of proficiency the rest of my team is at." I said honestly.
