 “So your skill is an extension of the status. That’s interesting.” The baron said to me as he saw the Pack Opener menu. Well I guess it kind of is.

 “So now we can open these ‘packs’. How do we do it?” Alice asks.

 “We choose a set to open and well… it just kind of happens.” How am I supposed to exin this to her. I don’t even know myself.

 “What ones will we be opening?” She asks.

 “I think we should go with one of each of the bottom three.” I tell her. They are the sets I unlocked in the dungeon, so I want to open them.

 “Sure.” She said.

 The cards appear with their backside towards us. I wonder if the baron and Henry can see what we will get already since they are sitting opposite to us.

 “Here, now you touch the cards one by one to open them up.” I tell Alice. I let her do the flipping.

 “Scary.” She said. I guess seeing arge storm is a little scary.

 “That’s also scary.” It also has more attack than my Slot Machine. I may have used my sleeve too soon. The power creep is real and these are still early sets. Well I guess Blue-eyes is still the strongest monster you could have at this point.

 “Brian, why are some of the cards purple and some yellow?” Alice asks me.

 “It depends on what the cards do. The yellow and orange ones are monsters you can summon, while purple and green ones have magical effects.” I tell her.

 “So you can even make magic with these cards. That’s amazing.”

 “Sure, but the spell and trap cards are all one use only. You can’t just use them however you want. You need to n ahead.” I tell her.

 “If I summon this bird, do you think I could fly on its back?” Alice asks me.

 “You absolutely could not.” The baron takes part in our opening.

 “But why?” Alice asks.

 “Do you have any idea how dangerous that would be?” He says.

 “And bringing her along to activate a dungeon waspletely safe, right.” I say back. If you are going to be overprotective at least be overprotective constantly, not just some of the time.

 “It’s a golem carriage with a cannon.” I tell her. I hope that that is correct.

 “I want that. Let me have it.” So Alice wants a tiger. Well I might let her have it.

 “Not really. It’s not bad or anything, but nothing is amazing. The Twin-Headed Fire Dragon is a powerful monster though. So you could say that that is good.” I tell her. I mean Michizure as a rare is disappointing. Other cards weren’t bad.

 “Let’s go on to the second one.”

 This time I just flipped over all the cards at once. Alice is a little disappointed that she doesn’t get to do it one by one.

 “There is a green card.” Alice says.

 “Yes there is. I think it should make a powerful lighting attribute sword.” I answer her.

 “The cards can make objects?” The baron seems both confused and excited.

 “Probably, but I don’t think it willst longer than two hours. That seems to be the time limit on these cards.” I tell him

 (If Master installs Lighting de on a sufficient base sword it should just get a powerup andst forever. But if the base sword is too weak, it will break.) Laura tells me. Better not to tell that to the baron just yet.

 “Are these monsters strong?” Alice asks me.

 “I think they are average.” I tell her.

 “Even the two that look like girls?”

 “Yes, even those two.”

 “If I be an adventurer will I be strong one day?”

 “I’m sure you could be.”

 “She will never be an adventurer!” The baron cuts in. Why are you trying to crush your daughter''s dreams?

 Alice grabbed onto my arm after her fathers outburst.

 “Why crush her dreams like that?” I just ask him.

 “I have my reasons.” He answers.

 “Using her as a marriage tool is not a good answer, by the way.” I tell him.

 “That’s not it.” He says. Really now? That’s not it. I would believe you, but I really don’t want to. At least until you give me a better reason than ‘I have a reason’.

 “Let’s not let him stop our pack opening.” I say to Alice, who is still clinging onto my arm.

 “Sure.” Alice said in a quiet voice. She really is scared of her father. Are you abusing her this much? Do I have to call the child protection agency? And here I thought you were a good father.

 Again nothing amazing. Normally, Yata-Garasu would be considered extremely good, but I don’t think it’s that helpful in my current situation. Alice doesn’t even react to me opening up thest pack. She is just trying to hold on to me. I really hope I can make her father regret his outburst. Your child should not be this scared of you.

 We continue our carriage ride in silence.
