CH.120 Do 14 cards make a deck?
Mmm.. I woke up and stretched. I slept pretty well considering the sleeping … ce. I can’t really say the sleeping situation, as I do have a nice bed to sleep on, but it is located in a dungeon.
I got up from bed, changed clothes and did my other morning business. Is it even morning anymore? Well, that doesn’t matter. Thankfully I analyzed things like the magic toilet back at the manor. They definitely make the core room seem more like a hotel room than a cave.
(If you actually want to know, it’s 10:03 am.) Laura told me.
(Well, I guess knowing doesn’t hurt.) Imented before moving towards the couches situated around the core.
“Good morning.” I said to Christina, Aneesa and Sana. Apparently, Sana had woken up before I did. Well then again, she did go to sleep earlier as well.
“““Good morning.””” The three of them responded.
I sat down next to Christina and basically as soon as I did, Aneesa poured me a cup of tea. Sana had also moved to make breakfast for me. These maids are still overspeced. Now I just want to know how OP are the maids in a Dukal house or the castle. Perhaps they are all super-poweredbat maids that take down A-rank monsters like they were goblins.
… okay, That might be a bit much. Even St. Joan and Dark Magician couldn’t one shot ava golem and ording to Laura that golem was B-rank. So someone who can cut down A-rank monsters like they were goblins would need to be insanely powerful.
“Did anything happen while I slept?” I asked Christina.
“No. It’s been peaceful.” She answered. “I also made the final preparations so we can leave after lunch.”
“Oh. So the dungeon is ready to be opened?” I confirmed.
“Yes. We will still have to keep an eye on it, but I believe it is good to go.” She told me.
“Good. Mind if I check it out?” I asked.
“Not at all. Make sure I didn’t leave any mistakes.” Christina said.
—
Even with the power of a dungeon founder, I can’t control everything. Therge thing I can’t control is the spawning of monsters. That can honestly lead to some dangerous situations like with the earthva golem, but that is something the adventurers will have to ept.
The main thing dungeon masters, and founder, are responsible for are the dungeon ‘drop points’. Well, they are more akin to trade points, but close enough.
The main drops we used for the early floors were cardboard, and the different fabrics. You could also get cardboard boxes and ready-made clothes, but the drop-points for those were at the end of side rooms, so adventurers would need to do extra work for them.
The dungeon had also added new clothing options for the ones avable. Simple dresses and long sleeved shirts made of tricot. A denim jacket. And some cotton … underwear, for females. Yeah. I’m going to leave it at that. Where did the dungeon learn about things like that?
On theter floors, things like magic bags and magic sks were avable. Even monster cores of E to C-rank could be gotten. As well one of those bracelets that could hold a magic stone. Why is the dungeon learning this much on its own? Is it because I installed Labyrinth Wall into the core? Perhaps that gave the dungeon more purpose and now it’s trying to impress me.
Well that all looks fine to me. Last thing I checked was the safe areas and the healing areas. Sadly, the healing areas took up a lot of mana, so we could only have a few of them. Christina decided to ce them on floors 2, 4 and 6. At least the monster free zones weren’t that mana hungry so we could have some on each floor.
“I think it’s fine. Nice work.” Iplimented Christina. She had thought about basically everything.
“Thank you. I’ll be making adjustments as adventurerse over, but there likely won’t be a need for any major changes.” She said.
“Well, that’s good. By the way, can you make mithril swords now?” I asked about the thing that caused her to fight against theva golem.
“Yes, I can. Perhaps theva golem really was a test and I passed it.” She answered.
“Well that’s good.” At least she didn’t risk her life for nothing.
“Oh, and here are your cards.” She said as she gave St. Joan and Dark Magician back to me.
“Thanks. I should probably work on your deck now, so you can make a rtionship with the cards you do have.” I told her, but then I remembered that one card I got. “But first I want to try something. Please bring your terminal next to mine.” I told her as I pulled up my sleeve to reveal my founder’s terminal.
Christina seemed confused for a second as to what terminal I was talking about, but as soon as I revealed mine, she realized what I was after.
“What are you going to do with them?” She asked.
“Well I got a card yesterday that I think will make a transfer route between our two terminals. Probably. And that would be super useful.” I told her.
“Transfer? Like teleportation?” Christina wondered.
“Probably. We are about to find out.” I told her as I traded the two monsters Christina returned to me for the card I needed from the Collection. I held Exchange over our two terminals before I said. “Install.”
As the card in my hand broke to pieces of light that were then absorbed by our terminals, a system screen opened before me.

Exchange link established between the Founder’s Terminal of Brian Wood and Master’s Terminal of Christina Watchman. Transfer of small items between the terminals is now possible.

I looked at Christina. She didn’t seem to have a reaction to the system screen, so perhaps she can’t see it.
“Did it work?” She asked.
“I think so. I got a system screen saying it worked. Can you see it?” I asked.
“No. I don’t see anything.” She said before focusing her vision on something in front of her. What is she looking at? “Actually, something did change. My Card Summoner leveled up to level 2.” So she was looking at her status.
“I see. Do you see any difference with it? I think you are the first one who got it to level up.” I told her.
It’s interesting that she was the first to level it up even though she has had it for the shortest time. Perhaps using a fusion monster or the exchange link made it level up faster.
Or even the exp she got through Dark Magician and St. Joan killing theva golem. But if that were the case, Alice should have leveled up hers after the wyverns. She did fight with Dark Magician Girl at that point after all. But then again, that could just be a theory.
“I don’t see any difference with the skill.” She said.
“I see. Well we should test out the exchange link.” I responded. Now we need a test subject. Beaver Warrior, Where Arf Thou? Well, that spell can’t actually search out Beaver Warrior.
“I’ll try to pass this card to you with the exchange link. I’m not sure what will happen, but I think you might need to receive it or something.” I told her.
“Yes. Please send it to me.” She responded.
As I was wondering how to do that, a small slit opened up in my terminal. It was about 12 cm wide and just about 2 cm tall. It’s more than enough for a card to pass though, even in a toploader, but not much else. Letters can be passed with it as well, I suppose.
I slid Beaver Warrior into the slot and my terminal fully absorbed the card. It looked strange as it almost seemed like the card went into my arm, but I didn’t feel anything.
Just a secondter, a soft light glowed on Christina’s terminal. She ced her hand on it, and the light opened up a slot like mine had. And from the slot, the Beaver Warrior card came out.
“Nice. It came though. Can you send it back as well?” I asked.
“Sure. I’ll do it now.” She responded. She then ced the Beaver Warrior back into the slot.
After a second, my terminal glowed again. I also felt a small mana pulse from it, so I guess that is something like a notification. I might miss it if I’m in the middle of something, but Laura would definitely notice.
I ced a finger on the light glowing on the terminal. Then the slit opened in it again and the Beaver Warrior came out of it.
“Well we were lucky it worked. I’ll work on your deck for now, if there is nothing else you need me to do.” I told Christina after the sessful experiment.
“Sure. I’ll keep an eye on the dungeon.” She responded.

Now then. I already opened today’s packs before I went to bed, so I can get straight into the sleeves and toploaders.
(Laura, will you take care of that part?) I asked.
(Don’t I always?) She gave a snide remark.
(Yes you do. And I’m super thankful for it.) I responded seriously.
Ancient Lizard Warrior, Ancient One of the Deep Forest, 4x Anti-Spell, Archfiend Soldier, Archfiend''s Oath, 2x Archfiend''s Roar, 2x Armored Lizard, Armored Zombie, Bombardment Beetle, 2x Cyber Raider, Cyber Saurus, 2x Dark Gray, 3x Dark Scorpion - Cliff the Trap Remover, Darkbishop Archfiend, 2x Decayed Commander, 3x Des Dendle, Desrook Archfiend, Disc Fighter, Disk Magician, 2x Dokuroyaiba, Drill Bug, 2x Fake Trap, 2x Fire Kraken, 2x Fruits of Kozaky''s Studies, Germ Infection, 4x Giant Orc, Giant Turtle Who Feeds on mes, 2x Gigantes, Gravekeeper''s Servant, 4x Great Angus, Great Phantom Thief, Griggle, 2x Ground Attacker Bugroth, 2x Gyaku-Gire Panda, Headless Knight, 2x Iron cksmith Kotetsu (extra copies, not the one that was ced in a sleeve), 2x Jam Defender, Jar Robber, 2x Jellyfish, 3x Jinzo #7, 2x Keldo, 2x Leogun, Little Chimera, Malice Doll of Demise, Mazera DeVille, Minor Goblin Official, Miracle Restoring, 2x Morinphen, Mustering of the Dark Scorpions, 4x My Body as a Shield, 4x Mystical Elf, 2x Old Vindictive Magician, Ooguchi, 2x Pale Beast, 2x Pandemonium, 2x Pandemonium Watchbear, Prevent Rat, Prickle Fairy, Pumpking the King of Ghosts, Punished Eagle, Rabid Horseman (Still have one each of eagle and horseman to fusion summonter), Rainbow Flower, 2x Reaper of the Cards, 3x Red Archery Girl, Regenerating Mummy, 4x Rod of the Mind''s Eye, 2x Ryu-Kishin Powered, 2x Second Goblin, 3x Senri Eye, Skull Dog Marron, 2x Skull Invitation, Skull Knight (still has one), 2x Sonic Duck, Souls of the Forgotten, Spatial Copse
(130 sacrifices for 26 sleeves. Is this fine?) Laura offered.
(... yes. Hopefully that will be enough.) I responded.
130? That’s a ton of cards. But I do need these sleeves.
Now. First things first. Emblem of Dragon Destroyer. That thing needs a toploader. Daily ess to Buster der is just that good. And it will pay for itself in like 25 days. Not like that is super fast though. Pot of Greed pays for itself in just 2.
I give Laura a second to put the sleeve and toploader on it, before pulling it out of collection and activating it.
“I activate Emblem of Dragon Destroyer.” I said quietly.
The spell shone lightly, before the new card appeared on top of it.
My new Buster der. I looked over the card and it’s set number was DL1-002. I recall that meaning a Duelist League promo.
I then moved the Buster der out of the way to see the grayed out spell underneath it. So it did go on cooldown normally. I need to add activating this to the daily routine with activating Upstart. I haven’t been activating Upstart Goblin while we’ve been in the dungeon, as I’m not sure how legal it actually is.
“... well, now I need a sleeve for this as well.” I muttered. So much sleeve usage. Never enough sleeves.
I pulled out a sleeve and slid the new Buster der into it. I can get another one for myself tomorrow, so this is going to Christina. It shall be her boss monster. I also sleeved three Amazoness Fighters, three Pdins, and one Archer and Tiger. Another 8 sleeves used. I only have 12 left.
Then a toploader for Amazoness Spellcaster. That’s another 5 sleeves. 7 left.
For the birds, sleeves were going on Roc from the Valley of Haze, Eagle Eye and Cyber Falcon. 4 Sleeves left.
Then the cute one. Cat''s Ear Tribe. Christina said she wanted it as well, so I’ll deliver.
3 sleeves left. But I think that is all for now. The guillotine thing can’t be done today, as I don’t have enough sleeves for a toploader.

I collected the 14 cards into a pile. I can’t exactly call it a deck, but it will work for now. I’ll make it better as I get some more sleeves. Well, the monster lineup isn’t exactly bad for the rules we y under, so all this ‘deck’ really needs is some more spells and traps.
“Here you go. I’m done with them for now.” I told Christina.
“Thank you Brian.” She said as she received the deck.
“I should also warn you. The cards have a longer cooldown than the one Alice has. You can only summon the monsters from them once per day.” I told her.
It’s not quite true, but close enough.
“Ah, I see. That’s too bad.” She said as she was looking at the Cat’s Ear Tribe.
“I might be able to upgrade themter, but I can’t at the moment.” I told her.
Well, I could, but I already sacked 130 cards for her. She can wait for her toploaders.
“I don’t remember these two from yesterday.” Christinamented on Cyber Falcon and Buster der.
“Well, I just noticed them and thought they would be good for you. Buster der is there instead of Big Ko to be your strongest monster and Cyber Falcon is just another monster that can fly.” I told her. “I will also give you an Overdrive at some point before I leave, but I still need another card tobo with it.” And perhaps a Gradius as well, but I need to test fly one first.
“I see. Thank you for this. This will be a huge help.” Christina said.
“Nothing but the best for my dungeon master.” I responded.
“Oh. You shouldn’t tease me like that. I might do something you don’t like.” Christina looked at me with the eyes of a predator.
“You say things like that and call me the teaser. Ironic, isn’t it?”
